As far as the possible oiling of sensors, I think it is prudent to pack the filters with Scott towel on both sides to absorb any excess oil. Blowing compressed air may help too..at lower psi.
what's the difference between the rs filters and the bmc? does the rs fit better because Porsche has put a stamp on it? it looks like it has the same shape and filter element as the bmc but with black outer trim.

The way I read Suncoast's post, the RS filters are the BMC filters. The non-RS GT3s have conventional paper filters with orange rubber frames. The BMC filters are less restrictive, hence less pressure drop across the filter. The engine can suck more air through the filter especially at higher RPMs.
When I had my bumper off to do my exhaust swap, I thought I’d check out the condition of my filters. Here is a quick iPhone shot of one of the filters. I threw in a shot of the new side bypass for good measure. They look pretty dirty. I tried to blow them out with compressed air and then vacuum them, but it didn’t help much. What are everyone’s thoughts on replacing them? The car has 10k miles, with 4k of those miles on the track.
As noted in this thread, SunCoast has the K&N filters for $75 or the OEM GT3 RS BMC filters for $360. Fabspeed has the same BMC filters for $165. I think I’ll go with the Fabspeed purchase!
