Turn-Key DIY Audio Upgrade Idea

This is a guess here, but I think to do the Burmester would be about the same cost as what I'm talking about ($6-$8K). Burmester is okay, but this swap is going to be much, much better.
You'd still have to cut wires to retrofit Burmester. This system will bolt to all factory locations.

When I looked at Burmester pricing, it looked much more like $2k to buy all the individual speaker and subs. And their sub is nice and molded to fit behind the rear side panels. Here is a link to pricing for all the Burmester stuff: http://www.porschepartshub.com/auto-...nd-system-scat
I total $1.5k for all of the Burmester stuff minus the amp and assuming only 1 rear subwoofer. If you want 2 rear subwoofers (left and right), then the total is just over $2k. Note that the GT3 does not have the subwoofer (#11) nor the rear tweeters (#10), so I assume wiring to those are missing as well.
Here are the totals:

Personally, I think there is a lot of room for improvement over the factory system, even with engine and tranny noise and lack of insulation. I wouldn't go ultra high end, but I would add a processor, amp, front speakers and at a minimum replace the factory subs. I did a similar system in my Tundra with an Audison processor, JBL amps and sub and Focal speakers - $4K and it sounds fantastic.

Anybody have any more thoughts on the Burmester retrofit idea plus a swap of the OEM amp for an aftermarket DSP + amp?
