[QUOTE=MJSpeed;12222312][QUOTE=vf430;12222187]I think you guys are overthinking this exhaust thing. I dont know what kind of sound goals you are trying to reach . Let me say this your 991Gt3 will not sound as good as a V8 , Ferrari one specifically. forget the Scud , even my 430 sounded much better than my shark 997.2 gt3.
I completely disagree as, IMO the 430 and for 458 sound like **** compared to my GT3RS but then again exhaust sound preferences are subjective.
Around the 1:12 time.
Now that freakin sounds awesome - no doubt. This might be the ticket

Having heard this and many other cars in person, this sound is up there with the best of them. I was giggling like a kid..

Has anyone fitted the factory 2010 GT3 CUP muffler yet? I'm not 100% in tune with the 991, so you'd have to verify on your own if the 997 J pipes work with the 991 headers. The internal construction of this muffler is slightly different than the OEM 997 GT3 muffler, so this solution is more appropriate than just deleting the side mufflers with J pipes.
Euro is cheap right now - you can get this full exhaust for the price of aftermarket J pipes.

Former Vendor
Watching exhaust videos shouldn't be the only thing you go on when making a decision. It's always best to try and meet up with local Rennlisters or hear different systems at the track. There are too many variables in the videos, what type of mic was used, where was it placed, did they edit the sound in post to make in punchier, EQ, and so on. There is no consistency or standard for recording the exhaust sounds. Are cars are impressive! Even an iPhone mic will get you pumped up if you aren't use to hearing them outside of the car. You have to also do your homework on the vendors and their "track records."
Also, a flat six is a flat six. An Italian Pipe will not make your car sound like an Italian Car.
The wail of any flat six is a battle cry so near and dear to me.
Long story short meet up with other owners and forget the cheesy videos with SFX.

Great topic guys.. Here is a quick video of our system on a 991 GT3 we recently did for a client. The sound is very good.

MJ , you are lucky to love your gt3 sound over Ferrari v8. Right there you saved a bunch of cash. More than likely "Ferrari sounds like **** " is not a majority viewpoint but you are entitled to your opinion. Cheers !

Compare the 458 to any of those Ferraris I mentioned and I'm sure you'll agree that it's the worse sounding. The video that I posted of the 991 Cup GTD at Daytona blows the 458 and the 430 out of the water, again IMO. So let's agree to disagree.

Impressive weight reduction!
the cargraphic complete side bypass are weighting about 5.4 lbs with valves and no muffler, and bbi is 4 lbs without valves and mufflers. On the other hand, cargraphic sport mufflers with the valves are about 27.5 lbs. these gmg sport mufflers seem to weight 5.5 lbs less than a similar system in the market!

Indeed, to my ear it sounded aftermarket, especially under full gas in 2nd gear.
