Not sure of the logic on this one....if you kill yourself how can you get a car?

I was told by an internal Porsche source a couple of weeks ago that there will be a 16 GT3. Didn't say anything at the time on RL because I figured the person may have confused GT3 w/ GT3RS in the context of our conversation. Don't be surprised if this turns out to be true.

It's good news for those that wanted one and couldn't get it because they were late.

The general consensus by members on this forum seems to be changing constantly when it comes to allocations, when I posted about getting a new GT3 a few weeks ago, the opinions were very strong about how there wouldnt' be any new allocations....because of that I almost bought one that wasn't really what I wanted and now I'm so glad that the sale didn't go through.

thats not good news. Instead of getting a 2015 with June delivery, I would have waited 2 months and gotten a 2016 one.

I could care less. The '16 will be no better than the '15...or '14 for that matter. Maybe some help on resale over the '14's...

Oh boy this will definitely create some downwards pressure on used 14 and 15 GT3's if this does get confirmed.

It seems odd to have a '16 as it will take production capacity away from the RS, unless the GT3 is higher margin?

unless RS is not everywhere heavily sold
that would be the only real reason to bring back to life GT3 prod line

but i am skeptical on these rumors

I'm confused why some folks would consider a 2016 model is bad for the GT3. If it does come to pass corporate possibly reviewed the bottom line, and said it has capacity to add more cars. Demand is good, and the car is selling beyond expectations well received by the market. Dealers are not in the board room, and are not included in volume distributions discussions. More supply takes the pressure off over charging by dealers, and that sucks for people buying cars for flipping. A car is a depreciating asset made for personal enjoyment, and not a financial instrument such as the stock market.

Hats off to the people that wanted cars, and now have the chance to get a GT3!!!
