My view is that it will eventually work out, especially if the original buyer and dealer have a relationship that span multiple cars. Also, once the original buyer realize that this is a very unique (and historical) Porsche color, he will probably take it and the dust will settle.

lighting and an iPhone. I will tell you what Eduardo, when I go back over to
the dealership to get my car, I will bring my Pentax 645Z and set white balance
for incandescent and post some quality pictures.

I will also talk to the sales manager personally and confirm that he indeed did
order GOLF BLUE and that it was available.

Whoa Whoa! Easy now big fella! Don't shoot the messenger and the photographer! I took that with my iPhone! It's under showroom incandescent lighting and an iPhone. Your car may be in 100 pieces when you go to pick it up.

Wow... This thread has spread like wildfire! I think that some people have chosen to jump to some serious conclusions, with very little fact. I can assure you of a few things. 1. The sales manager did not say that the car is ugly, quite the contrary. He happens to be a BIG fan of Gulf Blue. 2. The factual story behind the car and it's color are known to the dealer and client, as it should be and should stay. 3. I can say with great certainty that the client has no issue with the dealer. 4. I can also say, with great certainty, that the car is not available for sale.
He's entitled to his opinion. I rather like the color if it had an orange stripe.
I will also say that I said I wasn't sure if it was for sale. Just that it is there.
And if anyone was interested to give YOU a call. Now we know it's not for sale.

I wanted to order mine in "Big Gulp Blue" so I could apply a set of stunning 7 Eleven livery decals to my own one of a kind PTS rarity. PCNA claimed never to have heard of that colour (a lame excuse because I mailed them an actual cup) but the deal killer were the 6 cup holders I wanted in various places on my ultimate track weapon including unfolding cup holders from each LWB. They wouldn't do it so I told them to forget about it. What happened to the old adage "the customer is always right"?

Love Gulf Blue. I'd consider swapping my white one - yet to arrive - for it. Porsche did the customer a big favor, if the latter has any taste.

rubbaman, your car will be just fine. Trust me ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
It is not my intention to sound defensive in the least bit, although there are a few statements in this thread pointing the finger squarely at the dealer. That is the only reason I even bothered to respond. It's very easy to point fingers with no facts behind them. I'm not mad, and I'm certainly not bothered by the phone ringing. All publicity is good publicity, no? I know who to call, should the car become available.
Perhaps the client would like to tell the story, when all is said and done, but I will leave that up to the client. I would extend any of you the same courtesy, if you were my client.
