I sold my 'Signal Green' .1 991 gt3...
List of late production MY2015 'Signal Green' gt3:
***

I sold my MY2015 'Signal Green' .1 991 gt3 (9243)
to Porsche of Colorado Springs two weeks ago. By
coincidence, it reunited briefly in their showroom
floor with Bob815's 'Signal Green' gt3 (9251). That
gt3 was also for sale at Porsche of Colorado Springs
until days ago (it does not appear on the inventory
today, so I assume it has been sold).
https://colorado-springs.porschedeal...del=911&page=1
When I was there on July 31st, 2017, they had quite
a number of PTS gt3 & gt3 RS for sale at their new &
impressive 'Used' & 'Classic' sales center!
***
And Porsche of Colorado has just listed for sale my
old 9243. It has been CPO too...which adds to its
value for the next owner!

As you can see from its 1094 miles of use, I never
drove it much. I also religiously kept the rpm's at,
or below, 4500 since the engine was still during its
break-in period during my two year ownership. I
was fortunate to drive a friend's '14 gt3 in 2015 &
experienced 9000 rpm's on a similar engine. And
it was sublime! So the new owner of 9243 will have
the honor of revving this motor to its limit for the
first time. And my sale coincided with the decision
by PAG to extend the factory warranty on the .1 991
gt3's motor to 10 years from its original in-service
date (believe it's May 2015 in the case of 9243), so
this will be a value proposition to its next owner!

If any of you are interested in the purchase of this
vehicle, I suggest best to talk to GM Joe Brenner:
Or Sales Consultant Travis Fodge:
***
I have requested a .2 991 gt3 allocation
for a manual transmission model. But I
have no assurances of getting one in this
limited production environment. And much
less the chance to get one of the coveted
PTS slots. But I will remember fondly my
ownership of this magnificent machine in
its rare & stunningly beautiful 'Signal Green'
hue!

Because I suffer from a rare mental disorder.
I explained it to this Rennlister recently in
another thread:
mind you, but your point is well taken. Yes, it's
totally 'crazy' to only have driven that 'Signal Green'
gt3 only 1094 miles in two years! Mech33 asked
me the same thing a few days ago!
And it's not only the case of that gt3. I ordered
custom '12 Boxster Spyder that I drove for less
than 2K miles before I sold one year later:
I owned for 15 years a pristine original paint 1965 356
C Cabriolet...and I drove it LESS than 1000 miles in all
of those 15 years! I bought it from its original owner
with 38,878 miles! And I sold it 15 years later with only
39,500 miles on the odo!
In nearly ten year ownership, I have driven my 1970
'Crystal Blue' 911E Targa for just a few thousand miles.
My longest trip was from our second home in Vail (CO)
to Salt Lake City (PCA Parade in 2012). And then to
Carmel (CA). Again, original paint & interior, approx.
55K original miles, third owner, PCA Parade winner
(Judges Choice) personally chosen by Dr. Wolfgang
Porsche & Hans Peter Porsche!
And I have a mezzanine at my Toy Barn car condo
in Scottsdale with a valuable collection of mostly
Porsche 356 rare parts. It was accumulated in
20 years of 'hunting & gathering' at swap meets
(Pomona, Carlsen, etc) all over the US & Europe.
Once eBay took over (fishing in a stocked pond)
the fun of the hobby was over for me! I parked
it all in boxes like my cars...and not 'used' them
at all. I now will either display them or sell them
off!
***
I am not proud of my affliction. I am trying to get
'cured'. The '73 914 2.0 'Ravenna Green' I bought
last year is a repaint & I have no issues driving it
anywhere & parking it.
I am also planning to get soon a '17 .2 991 S coupe
with a manual transmission that I can use on a daily
basis. I had a car enthusiast friend here in Troon that
died last year of a heart attack at age 66. We were the
same age. He use to buy new & old sport cars all the
time, but was afraid of driving them because they could
get a rock chip or parking lot ding. When he passed
away, his wife sold all the cars at pennies on the dollar.
I am trying to learn a lesson from his death...and change
my bad habits! Mostly because I don't want my wife, as
a widow, the pleasure of selling all my valuable stuff too
damn 'cheap'!

Eduardo,
sorry to hear you haven't gotten as much driving fun out of your great collection! Life's too short. Drive the snotnout of 'em!
as for a DD 911, why not snag a lightly used '15 or '16 GTS manual instead of a '17 C2S? Will be cheaper, looks as good, and drive and sound better thanks to NA engine. Will probably depreciate less from price paid, too.

Eduardo,
I echo what Lapis posted--get a manual .1 GTS. It's fast enough, sounds amazing, looks cleaner, and better resale (but who cares, right?).

Sigh. You have a beautiful garage, and you have owned a PTS GT3, a perfect 356, and a 981, but you drive the 914? And your wife is smoking hot, but you schtup the collie next door. After all, you don't want to wear the wife out. Sigh again.
My life took a wrong turn somewhere. I'm not sure what I did wrong God, but I'm very sorry.

Arena Red?
Price seems decent for a PTS GT3. $139,900 with only 3573 miles.

Signal Green... Finally!
Thanks for such an informative post Eduardo.
A Signal Green showed up at McKenna on AutoTrader a few days ago and I'm proud to say I bought it!
This is 9249 that was originally for sale in Rancho Mirage. I will be the 2nd owner.
