GT3RS Pre order , what are my chances to get one in "normal" price?

i'm tired !
i sent emails to all 189 dealers in the US
around 70% didn't reply back
others reply that they will get only 1-3 cars and there is waiting list of over 10 customers.
some reply that they save their car to their VIP customers and 918
some asking 40K or more over MSRP
and the best one , will sell me the GT3RS only if i will buy also Panamera Turbo S

It's certainly an interesting game played by "exclusive" automakers. Keeping a lid on production helps drive demand and price justification. Limiting production helps satisfy exclusivity, which also helps price justification. 99.9% of cars are not financial investment items, yet have the ability to elicit so much passion and desire that enthusiasts are willing to stress so much about rumors and the trickling of information from the manufacturer.

Price gouging above MSRP keeps me from even thinking about the 991GT3 RS

Ditto...paying MSRP, buying brand new, and paying sales tax (I will make an except for the RS and GT4) would be hard enough for me to do but then add a mark-up and pay taxes sales on that mark-up? FUNK NO!

Another thing to consider....look at where the euro currency is going versus the dollar. Why the hell wouldn't VW...errrr PAG want to pump out as many RSs into the US as possible to get as many US dollars in their pocket? I would. Bless the strong US dollars!

Why would you lose 5k on the deposit? No one in their right mind ever gives a nonrefundable deposit without a known allocation. If you give 5k for an allocation yes, but waiting list never.

Well I put down a $1000 refundable deposit (written) to get on a waiting list....cars to be sold at MSRP.....I have no issue tying up a grand to wait...the dealer said they take a deposit to weed out the people that may not be serious....he has people from across the country on the list and are no doubt on others....

^ That's pure speculation from dealers who have no better idea what the factory is planning than we do.
Here's more speculation, this time next year they will be wrapping up allocations of a record 1500 RS to just the U.S., with a special edition "homologation special" with a limited WW run of 500.
My speculation is based on past practice by Porsche.
Dealer speculation is based on what???- primarily by high demand and Porsche keeping them in the dark on production or allocations. Not that they are greedy but if all you here are rumors and only 918 clients have hard data, you just start making things up.

More so, there are now 918 owners who gets first dibs on everything. Also, the US economy would appear to be recovering as well. From this, I think the 991 GT3RS residue will be even stronger as there are more demand across the board.
Lastly, the 991 GT3RS runs a unique 4.0 engine. In the grand scheme of things, producing the GT3RS is now becoming an very expensive proposition for Porsche, especially with the facelift 991 coming in (rumored with the new turbo engines across the board).

Sure, let's see what happens in 12 months time. A few things you need to factor in, the world's economy is very different now compared to a few years ago. When the 997.2 GT3RS hit the market, the US is still the biggest market for Porsche. China and the Asian market is now coming on really strong, and this will take cars away from PCNA

You also need to understand that Porsche only has official data (cars that are sold through their dealer system). I know for a fact that there has been 20+ 991 GT3 that were sold through the grey import in Taiwan, versus the official 35 cars that are sold through the official dealer.
The same thing applies in China, except the number is exponentially bigger. So you can't just rely on official Porsche numbers. Most of the time, these grey market cars in Asia are imported from mostly the US market and German market. This will affect the number of RS available in the US both officially and unofficially (eg. export).
