I was sitting in Brett Payne's office talking Super Bowl trivia as Rookie1 was signing the paperwork in the cubicle next to us (Sonnen has all glass offices). Same day pick-up. Unfortunately I couldn't drive up the coast right away like he did, I had to wait until the next day.
Brett made the experience memorable. Professional all the way.
I went "basic/functional"' with only LWB (obvious reasons), lift (steep driveway with bad angle), anthracite trim (shiny trim in 991S had too much glare and reflection), and same color nipples (Brett's recommendation). Very happy with how it turned out.
So far:
400 miles since 1-31-15
Trying really hard to keep it under 5000 rpm...oops, slipped a couple of times
Was worried that I'd miss the 7MT from my '14 991S I traded in. Besides pushing down an imaginary clutch pedal every time I start the car, I have not missed it at all. I had a '95 993 with a manual, and drove it 100,000 miles before selling and it had become second nature. I had driven a Boxster with a PDK close to 1000 miles, and was unimpressed. My '13 DD GTI has a DSG box, and I like it alright, but I don't expect much out of it either. It's nothing like the PDK S. Everything's been said about the PDK that can be said, but I am definitely won over. Simply wonderful except for starting out slow in normal mode. Once it gets going, oh yeah!
I have the "rattle" from the rear of the car. Very bothersome. I am guessing it's the rear deck lid, as has been mentioned here. Will take to the dealer.
The attachment point for the seat belts on the LWB's is not anchored properly and rattles like crazy on the driver's side. I have jammed a piece of cardboard in between the pieces and will have the dealer fix that as well.
I drove the 991S over 18,000 miles in 15 months, going almost every day after work, never taking it out except to drive it for the experience of driving it on the incredible roads here in NorCal along the ocean and through the farmlands. Became a daily "fix" for me. This GT3 takes it all up a notch. I may be in rehab by Summer.
Many thanks to this forum for the great information as well as giving a place to go to quell my anxiousness as I waited for my new car.

Very nice. Especially the silver seatbelts.

Congratulations - looks great.
Where exactly are you in the Bay area? Just my perception but from the RL's it seems the Bay Area has the highest percentage of GT3's in the country?

Thanks for the positive responses everyone. To respond to a couple of you (I'm not sure how to quote yet):
I'm looking forward to getting to the track. Been a very long time and have very little experience, so a little timid.
I'm in Marin County, just north of San Francisco. Would love to get together with any other owners. I have made a few of the C&C at Vintage Oaks in Novato. Great group of people there, but I'm more interested in driving on Sunday mornings.
Even though I know there are other GT3's up here, I have not seen another one on the road yet, at least not 991's. There are a few very sweet older 3's and RS's at C&C, however. They really have an air of excitement about them, even parked.
