Default serious question before i pull really hard on the black rubber on roof

the roof looks identical to our 991S.... same rubber, same roof (991 is sunroof delete too)

if i pull this black rubber up on the GT3 is their holes to mount a roof rack?

please tell me yes!!!... looks identical.. i assume they would leave it the same.. but 1 ounce difference could make the car 1000x faster.

says whom?

the frame should be the same.. the weight doesnt sit on the roof (thinner and no liner) it sits on the window frame.. which if anything should be stronger..

the roofs are sick.. i went 170mph with 2 bikes on roof of turbo (forgot they were on there) no issues... still own 2 bikes. lol

i might pull the rubber to check...

Default No roof rack

I don't recall where I read it (991 GT3 Service Info Technic? -- my copy is loaned out) but I read there is no provision for a roof rack on this car.

Here's the info from the STI. Looks like the answer is a no go and datapath is right.

"Further weight savings were made through the additional use of aluminum acces- sories. Similar to the previous model, the new 911 GT3 also features a front hood and doors made of aluminum. The front fenders and roof are based on the new 911 generation (991), are also made of aluminum. For further weight reduction, the brack- ets in the roof area for securing roof transport systems have been omitted."

I've seen a guy slap a bike onto his carrera using suction cup mounts. He said he had it on the freeway and no issues. I think there was 3 of them, at least one on the rear glass.

www.Seasucker.com. I've used them for a few years, no carbon fiber ejections/explosions yet, even with burly 29'er on top. BUT, if your roof is thin you have to be careful, and use the windshield mount.

I've already checked. They aren't there. I ordered a GTS with racks, and already bought a Rocky Mounts Euro Pitchfork rack for the car. So instead I bought a GT3. No roof rack, and now I have a bike carrier that I don't need. I'll just have to keep using my Panamera with roof racks whenever I need to shlep a bike around.
