Does lifting the lid remove the water?

My car isn't due until March.

I recall this helping on my '10.

I've found that a ton of water hides in / on the engine cover, frunk lid and rear window trim.

The water that collects on the front radiators will give you a shock when the steam starts coming out of the bonnet intake. It only happened once when I did not move the car after washing.

I use a leaf blower on the radiator intakes etc., as well as on the rear spoiler. Water dissipates et voila all nice and dry.

Same happened when I picked up my car from dealer. They washed the car after service. As I take off a gush of soap water splashes all over front and windshield. Turned around and back to dealer for another wash.

All you need is the master blaster for drying your car and you will never have this problem + you will be free of swirl marks! Also get CR Spotless water ionizer with cheap pressure washer shooting 1400psi and you will have no need to touch your car with anything to dry it!! these three items make washing a joy.
