Haven't had any issues with the sunstrip on the RS over the years, but who knows. KI is one source for the strip. There are a few available (think there is one there in UK that has LOTS of options as well - google).

Really nice job - congratulations!!
It's just me - and I know I'm way in the minority here - but I'm not a fan of white cars but it certainly opens up the palet if you want to be creative. I've got sapphire blue and I don't know what type or color of accents you could put on that car without making it look a mess? Perhaps that's why I'm an Engineer and not arty farty??!?!?!

Dark grey scud style. Unless you've gone with black wheels and headlights, then likely black.
