Default Driving Instructions

Hello,

I purchased a 2015 GT3 (Delivered late Nov) and I am interested in driving lessons. I live in MD though I would be willing to drive up to around 2 hrs to obtain good driving lessons. Does anyone have any information concerning this?

Many Thanks,

Mark

Great looking car!

As to driving instructors--I'll leave that to the experts in your neck of the woods. The Porsche Driving Courses are also fun and helpful.

Hook up with your local PCA chapter and go to a DE event.

Check out www.pcapotomac.org. They have a HPDC (high performance driving clinic) at Jeffereson Circuit in Summit Point WV, 3/21. You will want to sign up for that intro event. Once you've taken the HPDC event you can attend other DE events and start out in green with an instructor.

+1

Autocross in another good way to develop a feel for driving and the car, while being relatively inexpensive and very safe - a very good option for beginners. PCA Potomac will have an autocross school coming up in early March.

Good point on autoX. Depending on where you are in MD. Chesapeake region has their autocross school in April.

Mark, Todd is absolutely correct. If you have never been to the track, sign up for the HPDC on March 21st (if there is still room) at Summit Point. If not, sign up for the one in September or October of this year. Furthermore, in addition to autocross, which is excellent for learning care control, come out to S.P. on one of our PCA DE weekends to observe and make certain it is something you want to do.

As far as your car, many of us are starting to learn to drive the 991 GT3. My limited experience to date is that the car is much more of a possible daily driver than my 997 GT3, which I did not enjoy in everyday driving. But, saying that, my first impression is that the car is very quick and handles superbly.

Don't limit yourself to one region. As a PCA member, you can sign up with other regions as well.m

Just a friendly reminder registration is open. I reserved a spot. I have done some open wheel and manufacture sponsored clinics but never tracked my own car so I figure this would be a good introduction
