2019 end of the decade will be 992 electric Era
and they will have RS .1 + .2 + GT3.2 + GTS.2 a lot busy considering 5 years to go for the new era are nothing
Also there is ONE more thing. There is something with the PDK on the RS. I don't know whether it is 8 spd, some mechanical KERS as someone messaged me ( I only asked about electric), or something else. But I was told the tranny had some special sauce. They confirmed the stupid Pit Lane Limiter but said there is something else. I don't have anything else concrete as I didn't even think to ask about mechanical KERS (still highly unlikely I believe). I was told there is a RACE/PTV altering mode on the car.
What I suspected form the 9A1 in the RS, but let's see when it comes out.
fxz, I think what Hatz was trying to say in regards to the RS engine going to "standard models with turbo" is that they will carry on with the 9A1 recipe after the RS is out. And in the event they do use this engine in racing, all 911s will have a 9A1 including race cars, and there won't be a bespoke "Motorsports" block like with the Mezger again. Nothing new here.

Thanks for the Intel. Glad to know my hat is safe. The 9A1 in the GT3 is almost identical to the RS save some hardware changes for capacity. This is the engine basis motorsports will use if indeed the decide to go any further with flat 6 in racing...The PDK-S is one area PAG can change the character between the two cars. If they are dropping RWS (I never asked this) they will need something to restore the deficit....
Thanks for the info, as I frankly am relieved. Am I the only one who thinks Her Prof Doc Hatz needs a lesson in press interviews and perhaps a pre approved script? We can laugh about all our thread hand wringing as silliness, but the source was not Joe Schmo from Kokomo.
I wonder how much of it was being uninformed or misleading and how much was simply a poor translation. When you're not speaking in your first language sometimes things don't come out exactly as you intend. From the beginning, that seemed the most likely scenario to me.
I would like to see the same 135 hp/liter obtained by Ferrari with his 458 Speciale..This would translate in a fantastic 540 hp ..for the new Rs..but as many say here, they will probably stop at 520 hp…(130 hp/liter) with this new engine..( compared to the 125 hp/liter of the regular Gt3)..

Porsche has always done more with less. Look at the GT3, compared to many cars with 100hp more. In the end, the final number really doesn't matter that much.

Agreed. This engine will put out no more than 128 bhp p/l
Costs rise hugely above this and reliability can decrease...
RS is guaranteed to have not new motor architecture but absolutely derived motor from 9A1. Hatz messed everyone up and what he meant was from the last Gen car. It is 4.0 liter 9A1 and over 500hp. Told me time and again that the GT3 is basis for motorsport engine. There is some special sauce in the GT3 motor and transmission. I was told race mode PDK with a mode to alter torque vectoring.
Specifically asked when we would see a 918 type electric boost and he told me no way in 991.1, no way in 991.2, and testing currently in 992.
Told me all 991.2's are turbo. He told me there is the very very real possibility that this is the last NA GT3/RS. Mostly due to Euro 6 rules.
Also got lots of info on GT4 which I'd prefer not to post in the public forum but would be happy to reply by PM.

That is great news from Dr. Walliser for future value of current GT3s. Thank you for passing it along. If proven correct, you should be considered for the LMA and join the ranks of scoopers like MJones. https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...ber-award.html

Having used the 997 Gt3 mkII for a long time in the past and the Speciale now on several race tracks in Italy, I completely agree with you. Mine was just a technical wish..
I should get my RS this Autumn substituting the Speciale,so I am really totally addicted to Gt3 in general.

Dan (suggest someone poke Monsieur Rouleau)
If anyone would be providing the straight scoop on GT cars it should be Dr. Walliser....head of the GT program.
BTW, before one can qualify for the LMA I would think one must first become a regular M.....
