Doesn't make any sense to offer a MT in the 1rs! *It will make the car perform worse. *It will make the older version cars less valuable! Porsche is as happy as we are that the 996/997gt3/RS versions are valued high. They make more money on parts and service when people want to look after their "investments".

makes sense, and it would increase production costs to offer two variants, and it would create a dilemma PDK-S=faster Manual=theoretically more control which to buy?

Don't forget that they re-sell older cars as well...

But I don't think that is a good enough reason for the PDK-S.

I think that the car is too fast for a manual gearbox.
It is time to learn to left-foot brake.

Id say forget about seeing a manual in the 991RS.

I think a manual is possible in the GT4 however.

Porsche saw how many purists stuck to their guns and didn't buy a 991GT3. They know how many purists will stick to their guns for the RS. Porsche says jump, and the purists say…

All sarcasm aside, the sports car market is becoming the GT market, and this includes the GT3, maybe not the RS, but who knows. I'll bet the new RS will be more streetable then it's last iterations. There is money to be made. I know women in their 60s who are mopping up 991 and 991S coupés. Why? It's to drive. It makes them feel young. None of them would have said that about the 997, or any 911 before it.

Porsche knows what they're doing and the real purists will lose.

What if they call the manual version (wait for it...)

RS America...

An oddball enthusiasts car with the beautiful wide bodywork and side vents, maybe less wing or even just the duckbill... 4.0 engine and a manual. It would be so far outside the lines that they could charge $300k for it all the usual suspects would scoop it up into Leno and Seinfeld type of garages and all kinds of Beatles level legends will be written about it. Chris Harris will get a test drive and no one else.. He'll say some random junk like "proper punters car" and "undeveloped, undriveable, totally insane, but I want one)... That's my prediction... Anyone want to photoshop this?
