I believe Show and Display allows you up to 2500 miles / year , but there is no enforcement that I'm aware of to limit you . The 996 RS seems like one of those cars that will skyrocket in value at some point given what a great car it is - seems held back by the slab sides and fried egg headlamps . .

Spoke with my dealer today. Confirmed is they will first be offered to 918 owners.
My dealer has sold 11 918's to date. One guy bought 2 of the 11.
I was told that if a 918 owner passes on his allocation, that he could sell it for over sticker if he chose to do so.

it is not too late. if you serious, i know a dealer who still has one allocation available (somebody just backed out) .. and you'll get guaranteed GT3RS allocation with it PM me for more details if you seriously thinking of 918

I do agree here Nate. There are a ton of great choices out there and no matter what we always will have access to SOME of them making it possible to scratch that itch. Many folks here have had an RS. I am not one of them so this car for me is extremely appealing.

I've started to think about alternatives to the RS if my allocation doesn't come through or if the spec really puts me off . I'll most certainly look back - 4.0 RS , 993 RS , 964 RS ? I was starting to get my head around the PDK idea and now all this talk of KERS or ? The sooner we know what we're looking at the better !
