Just installed a US Mills white plate holder with the quick release mechanism. The quality of the product is outstanding. Solid materials and very polished. The only thing I question is the length of the bolt. Seems like it could be a little shorter. But overall very glad I bought the product. For those considering, their website has a link to their excellent Youtube video.

But to me, with all respect, it looks completely unbalanced sitting off way to the left.

That is IMHO of course, hence trying to find a 'centered' solution, as for me it will need to be on almost all of the time because I intend to drive my GT3 a lot).

I use the skene license plate bracket. No hole in bumper cover but two very tiny screws mount bracket under nose. Take a look. Very clean and removes without any blemishes. Name: image.jpg

I just put the front plate on the regular way, discussed with my dealer as they were saying to give it a shot without one but living in the city up here in Boston I'd get pulled over all the time. I don't need another reason for them to nab me. Between cost of potentially tickets and insurance premiums just don't think its worth the cost and headaches. That said, it was very sad to watch that thing go on there.

With a black plate on a black car, that might not look too bad (all relatively speaking). If you get a chance could you post some more detailed photos (especially of where you drilled the two 'small holes')?

Then you really have no other choice than to screw it into the bumper.

There are options--I just need to get my hands on the car first to explore those...still like the magnet scenario, but need to tinker for a weekend once I get the car.

I wouldn't go through all the worry personally. If you need to drive all the time with the front plate, and if you intend to drive this car a lot, then why even worry about some little holes in the bumper? The "look" that you will be presenting to the public will be a "center plated look", basically all the time. So who cares if the holes are under the nose or in the nose? There is no reason to worry about the next guy, and there is no loss of value by having the holes.

To each their own.

For me it's personal with the govt forcing us to do this, I always like to find the most practical way to solve my issue without drilling.

The only reason I'm told Texas requires it is so cops have a surface to aim their laser, and why cops don't like it when you don't have one--which irritates me even more.

I'd assumed others had done the same, hence the question.

No worries either way...will advise once I have the car and an option (which may very well be holes--but I hope not).

Does not bother me. Standard in Germany and Europe generally and I am used to it. I pick up my cars at the factory anyway and they come with a front plate. In Ontario, where I live, they do ticket for no front plate.
