FYI for those in CA, Caltrans does pay for damage from pothole damage. I filed mine for $2K (that's 20 bucks) on my BMW 2 yrs ago, it was painless and took only 1 month to get reimbursement. No need to collect on insurance.

I had an m5 and I got a flat in 3 weeks after delivery, on my turbo s about a month. I haven't kept cars long enough to use it more than once on each car but it's relatively painless. The service advisor takes care of it.

AND there is a cash value to these policies, you can surrender and get a prorated refund.

That said, I don't do it unless it's ~1,500 the GT3 cost me $1,600

And I bought it from the dealer that services my car just to make sure they don't give me a hard time when I bring it in. They won't not honor the policies they sell. Another concern is tread depth. Most warranties will stop if the tread is below 3/32. Given our tires start at 5/32. That's not a ton of wear window.

But it's worth it and if I sell the car I'll refund the remaining balance..

I never get it. That being said, I purchased it for my TTS since it is my daily driver. Therefore, my first statement is a lie.

In Washington, D.C. There is so much construction that I probably get a nail in each of the cars a year. I got one in my M5 one month after purchase and my TTS 2 months after.

So anyone interested if I can get a dealer to give us a discount? I have one dealer quoting me $1600 for 5 years. Maybe I can get it down to $1400 for at least 5 people?

I am getting 5 years of coverage for $1250.00 for my Cayenne from Porsche of Arlington. I think this is a great price but is proper compensation to me for alerting the GM that the contract he wrote and signed for our new Cayenne had a $4k error in my favor.

My dealer asked for $1900+ for a four year policy. That is pretty much one whole wheel including tire. My comprehensive already covers that, besides the exclusions were pretty harsh. I declined.
