After 2 days and 350kms at the track with pro driving litte less than 100 of them half of the thread is gone....will be good for 2 more track days with easy 1 day included. Topped out oil before the beginning , yellow light came on and soon gone during day 1 and comsumption was minimal of 1 bar below max. Brake pad is in good health.

Another thing to keep in mind is that these type of R comp tires tend to heat cycle out sometimes before the treadwear is gone if you subject them to a lot of highway driving and relatively little hard driving. So while they are still safe to use they aren't going to give you nearly the amount of grip that they would give when they are new, even if a lot of tread remains.

I would really like to know a scientific answer as well although I suspect the ones in the know would be tire manufacturers and the likes of Tire Rack. I am somewhat limiting my road driving just because of that concern.

I got about 10,500 mi out of my original set. Mostly highway driving and including 5 track days (COTA, TWS). Not pushing real hard on track. The grip definitely fell off toward the end but still not too bad and they seemed predictable. There was still tread left and was planning 2 more track days before replacing but while inspecting them beforehand found a couple of small cuts on the outside shoulder of the left rear where the wear was greatest. Poking around at the cuts I could see the cords, so that was it. I remembered hitting something on the freeway and that must have cut the shoulder. Although the cup2 is a DOT R, they seem more like an RS3 or AD08 than NT01 which I've run on another car. Overall a good tire. Just a bit pricey and sometimes hard to find. I got lucky and local dealer had a full set in stock when I needed them.

Three Wheelin'
I bought my car used with 3k and believe it had a few track days. Now It has 9k miles and about 2mm from wear bars on the rear and 3mm up front. I have one rookie track day and several mountain runs including 2 smokies gt3 events. I also drive my car quick. It sees a ton of hard acceleration with tires slipping some(now that the temps out side are dropping into 50-60 degrees)
I do have another set of sc2 sitting ready to go but believe it will make 11-12k before these are done tread wise.

What's your experience with MPSC2 in wet? After 500 miles they seem reliable. I liked the MPSS on my 458 too.
