Default Poll: wheel chipping by colour

I'm interested in gathering some information from current GT3 owners who've put miles on their cars to see who's suffered chipped wheels. This poll may also give us some info about what proportion of cars were specced with each colour of wheel, for the sake of interest. While this poll is not terribly rigorous, it may give us some info about whether all colours of wheel are equally prone to this problem. So far, we've heard mostly about platinum wheels chipping. In the comments, please feel free to mention if you've had a unique experience worth mentioning too (e.g. really early chipping; lots of miles and not a single chip; live in the sticks and drive 100 miles on gravel roads to the corner store everyday in your GT3 to pick up milk--ok, maybe not that). Thanks!

Oh, and if your car hasn't been delivered, please don't vote yet. (that's my situation, so I won't vote)

Platinum. Mostly moderate driving on decent suburban and country roads. Some highway. Happened between 400-500 miles.

Most of the chips showed up after a spirited early morning run (before the engine swap) on some back roads following another Porsche. Should have been a little further back, I guess. In normal driving it hasn't been too bad but I've gotten a couple of chips here and there.

Titanium color, 6,700 miles. Noted a couple of chips early after spirited mountain and canyon driving. Since then have a few more chips after one Autocross followed by 5 track days (3 at Auto Club Speedway, one at Streets of Willow and one at Big Willow).
I guess I need to get some touch up paint.

Anybody find the ceramic products detailers are offering help protect the wheels?

Platinum wheels @ 350 miles and no chips.

Update: @ 500 miles I now have chips. This is only going to get worse. I may have to get my next set of Forgelines sooner than expexcted.

I had CQuartz applied to my wheels 10 days prior to all the chipping. Doesn't seem to offer any protection. Makes washing the wheels easy, though.

Just called PCNA and they have opened a case for my chipping issue. They will contact me within 24 hrs. to discuss what's next.

PCNA: 800-767-7243. Ignore the prompts and wait for rep to come on.

Hey Napoli, I hope your discussions with PCNA are productive. Thanks for reintroducing this problem to our collective attention. Up until now it was largely an anecdotal issue, but already it's looking like the majority of owners (who have responded) have seen chips. And black wheels are also susceptible. There aren't too many silvers out there, and so far no chip reports, but maybe it's just too small a sample. Please keep us posted. Good luck!
