Information confirmed last week.
The consensus from multiple reliable sources, including a plethora of cancelled PTS orders that could have been moved to 2/15 if production continued into 2015, is that production of 991 GT3 ends in 12/14.

I tried to order one months ago here in the UK and was told no, so find it hard to believe they'd still be making them next year!

To be honest i'm very surprised you can still order them in the States! Surely that will affect residuals if Porsche are churning them out; it's meant to be a limited car as with previous gens.

If this info about production being curtailed is true I guess there will be a lot of disappointed soccer moms! (Sorry Jonathon, couldn't resist..)

It just puts the lie to this whole business that the car was designed to appeal to a broader audience of more casual buyers, as opposed to offering a broader range of capabilities for the enthusiast buyer; a subtle but important distinction. To my way of thinking, a company doesn't build a car for a mass audience and then tightly restrict production.

I expect there will be a 991.2 GT3 and RS after the regular model roll-out, as usual. I find it hard to believe Porsche developed the GT3's drivetrain for less than a two year run of vehicles.

Agree there will be a 991.2 GT3 to come later. However, I predict an eighteen month window of no GT3 production, starting Jan 2015. During that window, they will announce and produce the RS and GT4.

The next run of GT3s designated as .2s or 992s, will be produced for fall delivery in 2016 as MY 2017 cars.

Do you mean the newly rumoured GT4 race car or the earlier rumoured street car?

I would be very surprised to see another GT3 + RS that is NA, this implies that PAG will still be manufacturing them as a MY18/MY19. Sadly - it just won't happen with EU emission standards...

Mike - I think the latter is more valid. I truly believe Porsche developed this 991 GT3 to compete more against the 458, which also has dual functionality for the enthusiast driver, and the RS will compete against the Speciale. I also think the PDK/S was able to put them right in their face and also helped give the GT3 a 0 - 60 time and 1/4 mile that is very close to the 458. In a way I thought Porsche finally took off the gloves on this one.

I know - two different types of Customers but egos are big in the racing world - as we all know

^And yet car mags such as Evo and Car et al were comparing the GT3 quite favorably to the Speciale. The RS will likely up the ante quite a bit.

Euro-7 will be phased in starting in 2020 and that's if Germany doesn't get a 4 year moratorium pushing it to 2024? So there absolutely will be another GT3.

I dunno, I juat shmell a rat around here for some reason. Not anyone who post. Just dealer who would want to down grade a car to say a GTS and make more money on add ons. Hey, worse things have happened before.

Besides If VW/Porsche was more of a responsible compang they would list such dates on their websites. Specifically the on specific model pages and on the "Build your own Porsche" pages.

Like I have said a million times before I only bellieve a delearship worker and sales folks based on how far I can throw them.

Off topic... but I did see a white 911 GT2RS yestetday making the transition from 99 North to 58 East. It's always crazy to see them types of cars when I visit me mumsie.

There are many more regulations/standards/taxes being phased in across many countries, including overall manufacturer based limits etc. The Green party in Germany is very powerful and sadly many German made NA performance cars have or are switching to FI.

We've all seen what Ferrari is doing and Audi is rumoured to be offering a TDI R8 for 2016, not to mention heavily marketing TDI + E-supercharger for the sports car market.

I'll be making my bet on it being the last by keeping my GT3 when I get my RS rather than trading.

Ordered my 2015 yesterday and received a code almost immediately. Called today to add a couple of things and the additions went through with a new code. Dealer called back and said the build locked this afternoon. So it looks like January.

Wow it locked that fast? What was your original "lock date" estimate from the Porsche system, and what is your estimated delivery date? Now you're making me nervous that I haven't updated my config yet because the system had shown a couple weeks left until lock.
