Since the coral parking is sold out (and I didn't buy it in time) How's the rest of the parking?

It pretty much stinks. The parking is in the dirt and the drought in CA means it is going to be VERY dry and dusty.

Yes it stinks. And it isn't hard packed dirt either. It's sandy and dusty!

Reposting this here, as it potentially effects future historics:

There is a petition started to give SCRAMP (the non-profit that has been managing LS since the 50s) the chance to retain management over the track. It sounds like the county has been trying to quietly hand it over to ISC, who are NASCAR focused.

YES, THIS IS A MAKOR DEAL!!! Monterey Co owns the land ( actually given to them by the Army for non-profit purposes) and has enlisted SCRAMP for the last 50 years to manage and improve it ( since 1957). SCRAMP has put $50M into the facility! Sometime in the last 20 years Monterey Co unilaterally changed the charter for the land and took out the non-profit section. Like most racing facilities in this economy the track is making a profit but has debt service to satisfy making the bottom line thin. SCRAMP has and is doing everything it can to improve the profit margins. For some reason the Monterey Co board has opened up private/closed door negotiations with ISC at the same time they were supposed to be in good faith negotiations with SCRAMP for a long term agreement. The whole thing stinks of back room deals!! I would encourage anyone and everyone that is a race fan to petition the Monterey Co board to open up the discussion publicly and to honor the almost 60 years of dedication and investment SCRAMP has put into the Laguna Seca facility. Here is a link to the whole story as well as address for the Monterey Co decision makers involved:

There should be links for letter templates as well
