There are many aspects a great transmission to a great engine that can overcome HP deficit. There a lot more to these new Porsches than shear power.

I don't disagree with you.

Personally, there's nothing that excites me about the Z06, and I would take an RS, even the 997 iteration, over the Vette.

But some people don't know what to do with their left foot, and leg, while driving.

Either way I'm keeping the Miata. Pound for pound a bucket of fun and silly cheap.

I don't want to sell the 997 until I like whatever car comes next. I'm not keeping all the cars. I'm thinking order a Z. If I like it, sell the 997. Keep the Z until the 991 comes in and choose between them. Then sell it when the RS happens.

What would you do? Discuss.
If the 997.2 GT3 is your cup of meat, I think you'll be impressed with the 991 GT3.
Assuming "all" is not realistic for space or money or hours in the day just to get around to driving any one of them, I'd say sell the 997.2 GT3 at a "make me sell it" price ... don't even think about trade-in to the dealer, at least in terms of money.

I have an order on a Z06, it's Spring or Q2 2015 for first customers, so you'll have the GT3 months before the Z06. If you can hold the 997.2 GT3 and take delivery of the 991 GT3, that's the easy cake-and-eat-it approach. Some sellers of the 991 GT3 will probably just want to flip out of it and go back to a 997, so you'll be perfectly hedged either way and prices aren't softening any time soon.

Personally, I think the Z06 is not a car I want as a road car, and the 991 GT3 is turning out to be a great road car as a two-seater, but not much use around poor roads and city potholes and perennial road construction. Once I've had my fill of it as a track car, I think the Z06 will be more of the cheap/silly fun you mention about the MX5.

It's all moot till we see the RS launch.

Not a bad plan minus selling miata. No better bang for the buck.

I'm thinking enjoy my 997 and maybe buy a z28. If I love the 991, then sell both z28 and 997. Praying the RS won't be north of 200.

I really hate the 991 gt3 won't fit 18 wheels.
