Gentlemen, My car will finish production this week. My dealer is in N.Y., when do you think it will arrive? I'm hearing mid October, is that realistic or not. I'm then having the car shipped south, any recommendations on transporters. Cheers Chuck D.

My GT3 finished production today. Estimated arrival at my Virginia-based dealer Oct 17-24. Hope that helps. Per MJones, dealer will have that info too.
I'm driving mine from VA to GA - road trip w/ my dad + break-in miles.

You could potentially get the car delivered to a southern dealer for a small fee. Many have done this. It looks like your car will arrive in Davisville 10/10, unless if gets on the boat leaving 9/17, in which case it will get to port 9/30. I think Mid October is a good guess.

swivelhi: I would probably only trust intra-dealer transfers. Won't cost that much more than a good transport company and there's a Porsche expert on both end of the trip.
sgroer: I think our cars are going to be shipmates. Can't wait.

It also depends when transport is available. Mine was suppose to be ready for delivery last week. I was informed later that it is still at port. In the system, it has shown "ready for transport" for two weeks! The problem is my somewhat remote location. I'm getting the first one delivered to Northern Nevada.
I'm very hopeful it arrives this week, and the wait will be over.

For years I shipped cars with Horseless Carriage but found much better service scheduling etc. with Passport Transport , was shipping seasonally
between R.I. and south Florida around $1400 now each way with two cars
around $1250 each , both outfits glove service enclosed door to door
never had any issues cars were always amongst high end company.
