May be back in! Couple questions

I had a 991 7MT and traded in for a 991 C2S cabrio, S much better. Traded the S in on the GT3 couldn't be happier the sound is ridiculous way better than the S and just intoxicating. Steering is that much sharper without being overly strenuous. The standard suspension setting I think is harder than the S sport but not that bad, I think if you like the sport mode you will be fine with the reg. mode in the GT3. The sport mode in the GT3 is harsh but I love it, for DD it is too much. I have no regrets and would do it again in a heart beat.

sgroer: my GT3 (i ordered white despite our mutual obsession w/ gt silver) rolled off the assembly line today, will be in Emden in a week or so and i'm taking delivering in late Oct. it sounds like similar timing to yours. i need another GT3 partner in crime in Atlanta and think you should get the GT3. not fact-based. if i were you i would wait a couple of months for the buckets. not an option for me b/c my order was locked by the time that option popped up.

I had a C2S as a loaner for several months. My impression was it is a typical Porsche. Nothing exciting. Now that I have the GT3, the excitement factor has risen considerably. It is more edgy, race oriented and sensual. It is not as comfortable as the C2S but as a daily driver GT3 is more than acceptable.
If you are very happy with the C2S stick with it. The GT3 is a different car in most respects and based on your comments some you will not like.

Per my other thread I decided to go for it. Ultimately it's the car I ordered. I am many thousands ahead of where I would be in a 2015 and I don't want the buckets. If I really decide the 991S is a better got I sell the gt3 and go back with little issue.
Giddy up!!

GT3 as a DD will likely depend upon how much daily driving you do. I have no problem driving 2-4 hours
to local tracks and back, every few weeks, nor does my wife, but we agreed our Panamera S would be preferable for our Porsche Club's recent 1,500 Mile trip from FL to TN with over 500 mile legs on several
days. I would have had no problem taking our C2S, or our Turbo on that same trip. Another factor is Tire cost. The MPSC2 Track tires, with improved longevity over the previous MPSCs, will be much shorter than the Street tires on your C2S, and are very expensive to replace - another factor to be considered as a DD.
But the fun factor in the GT3 is off the charts and far higher than any alternative Model IMHO.
So congrats on your decision to go for it. We only get one shot at this life and a do-over is highly unlikely.

As you can see, there are subjective differences here; I remember the C2S in Sport mode being softer than the 991 GT3, Scott thinks it's the other way around. I don't want to stray too far from the topic but it might be instructive for sgroer to compare spring rates for the cars. I have the numbers for the 997.2 S but not the GT3 or 991. Maybe someone has that info and could post those numbers.
Front: 45 N/mm
Rear: 120 N/mm
EVO says the 991 GT3 RS rates are "up 10%" from these values to cope with the added downforce, but didn't give numbers.

Night.
Day.
That's the difference and in a GREAT way.
Buy the GT3 and thank us ALL later.
Every time I drive this car I'm just floored how great it is--easy DD--no question.
PS - Owned 2S and 4S 991.

I had a 2012 991 S coupe with the 031 Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control option, great car to drive, I now have a 2015 GT3 another great car to drive; if you’re after creature comfort in a daily driver the GT3 is not your car.
