" Ferrari M458-T to Debut at Geneva 2015
After waiting 26 years to make a turbocharged comeback, Ferrari will waste no time following up the California T with another forced-induction Prancing Horse in the form of the 2015 Ferrari
M458-T, which Car magazine is reporting will be the name of Ferrari's latest creation. Essentially a facelifted 458 Italia, the new model will come powered by a reworked version of the California T’s 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 developing 670 horsepower, so over 100 horses more than Ferrari’s “entry-level” model. As well as a new powerplant, the refreshed Italia will see some significant design changes to accommodate the turbochargers, new intercoolers and improved braking system. It will also receive restyled bumpers and LED lights as well as enhanced aerodynamics.
The M458-T will come fitted with a Harman-Kardon infotainment system as per the Cali T, in addition to a reversing camera.
Set to debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, look forward to seeing and hearing more of the refreshed 458 Italia in the coming weeks and months. "

I personally think that this is pretty great, though it would be nice if they did keep a NA model available for the hardcore group.

There is no question in regards to performance etc but since I was a kid, the sound of a Ferrari was unmatched. Difficult to let go... I hope they keep a NA version as you said.

This is not breaking news, but it is sad news indeed.
The Cali lost something with the incorporation of hairdryers. The 458 will as well.
-------
Oh and the 911 is to follow as well with turbos. That wail of 9k redline we all (or soon) get to enjoy in our 991 GT3s will also go away.

It will be great for business for sure! It will probably sound like s**t and you guys will make it sound like a proper sports car and tripling your Ferrari exhaust customers in the process.

I'm not sure why this is sad news.
I'd rather have car companies evolve and adapt, than have governments legislate away our passion and toys.

Porsche should fight the trend with the GT3, since the 960 will probably fight the power wars with the 458 & 650S.
From what I understand, quite a few countries tax much more heavily if your engine is bigger than 4.0 liters. I suspect that is why Ferrari is going with a turbo'd 3.9 instead of turboing the 4.5. Mclaren is sticking with their Recardo sourced 3.8 until at least 2020. Sad.
