USED GT3 IN HOUSTON !!!
Joke of the day brought to you courtesy of a Porsche dealer in the southwest (don't know if I can mention who it is glad to though):
Saw a used (650 miles) 991 GT3 on this dealers website last night so I decided to call them this morning to see what the deal was with this car. I kinda figured used, needs a new engine, they are probably wanting to discount the car some to get rid of it right......WRONG. The used car manager told me that it is selling for $15,000 over MSRP. I said wait a second, its a used car first of all, second and most importantly it needs a new engine so he responded that the new engine would be paid for Porsche. Come on what are they thinking. Whats the strategy here. Really.....these people are seriously twisted or live in LALA land.

That's kind of surprising. I thought that that particular dealer wouldn't do that.

What a nerve......15,000 over MSRP......Jeezzz. How stupid do they think we are. I really hope nobody falls for that kind of crap. The value of 991 GT3 is questionable at best. A friend of mine has one parked in his garage and has only been contacted by Porsche once in all this time to pretty much let him know not to drive the car. The dealer contacted him once too god only knows for what, but the car still sits in his garage, no word as to whats happening or what the time frame for the infamous repair. Needless to say this guy is having a fit about the whole thing. 15000 over MSRP really, I mean really, get serious people in north HOUSTON and don't pretend to insult our intelligence like we are oblivious to whats happening !!!!

Doesn't surprise me at all about more than just that dealer, Momentum Porsche sold me a GT3 slot and after the rep didn't return my calls at all I asked to speak to the sales manager who defended the sales rep all the way and thru me under the bus. But you know what thank you Momentum you are wonderful just because you helped me get off the GT3 bus and today I am happily enjoying my 07 GT3 RS. thank you momentum for being such bleep bleep bleep

I won't do business with any of the Houston dealers other than warranty and typical service only because I have no practical choice.

I don't understand why you are so worked up over it. You already purchased a very nice vehicle, why pick up the phone and call a dealer who is selling over msrp with no intentions of buying it. Let the man do his business. Does it upset you that someone may buy it?
I don't get it.

lets just answer......I called the dealer to find out what the asking price was. I did not know they were selling over MSRP. I agree with you I would not even consider wasting my time that way. I called because it occurred to me that there might be an opportunity to buy a 991 gt3 at a discount given the problems on hand and then justify the wait and an engine swap because of a lesser price.

You purchased a very nice 07 GT3 RS thanks to that dealer. We get that they may be jerks there. I just don't understand why you would call them after you have purchased your car already.

I can solve that problem for you. I have a gt3 for sale with a swapped engine ready to be delivered in a few months. Im guessing 25 to 45K off msrp. Cheap enough for you? I'd say that's a hell of a deal.
