Definitely different rod bolts

GT3 9A1 - 9A1 103 115 91
991 9A1 - 9A1 103 115 02

The GT3 rod bearings are not listed as a separate part number from the rods
because they are a matched set, unlike the non-GT3 rod bearings, so they're different too.

As an added point, all the non-GT3 9A1's ie 981/991 3.4/3.8 have the same rods/bolts/bearings.

I honestly thought I was posting in that thread!

The part number of the bolts are different, but is the bolt different? I have been there before.

"Analysis has revealed that in both cases the engine damage was caused
by a loosened piston rod screw connection which damaged the
crankcase. In order to avoid this in the future, an optimized screw
connection is currently being tested."

Jake, does GTS motor have same design or was it something new they did for 991 only?

Do you know if the gt3 uses the same rod bolts as the new turbo?

The rod bolt part numbers for all the non-GT3 9A1s are the same,
so 981 2.7/3.4, 991 3.4/3.8/GTS/Turbo are all the same rod bolt part number. (but different from the GT3)

Thanks. I thought I read in another post that the Turbos shared the same con rod bolt as the GT3. This makes more sense since they are not recalling the Turbo now.

You're welcome. Unfortunately there is a lot of stuff written as facts that are really assumptions sometimes....
