Default Lifter option

I read from one of the post here the front clearance is about 97mm, what is it with the lifter?

Lift gives you about 25-30mm more clearance... Makes a significant difference from experience...

Best option on the car IMHO. I live in Europe and I couldn't live without it. If you live in a country where all the roads are as flat as a race circuit you don't need it, otherwise I wouldn't want to miss it.

In my fairly brief time with the car I've found I can get by most of the time without it. But when I need it, I REALLY need it.

Depends where you live actually. A friend has it here in the UAE and wished he didn't order it. He's never had to use it.

I don't have it and no problems with scraping.

In Europe and places like sanfrancisco I'm assuming you need it.

I have heard if some malfunctions from time to time though

-Thx Mate. --- been too long since i drove car.. .. I remember it was so fast, you could hit it just before pulling to a curb entrance.. -- I think the system is integrated first class. I just need to remember to set it to LOWER when I park the car for extended time.. -- I think thats recommended..

Spoke to Suncoast today, the stock front spoiler (aka splitter or lip) is $174.38. I asked about brake ducts and she stated $10 ea., but I think that is likely vertical dams in front of each front wheel not the duct assembly.

It appears you could trash the whole setup under the front bumper and replace it all for less then $300 USD.

My build locks in 3 weeks and I've flip flopped so many times on the lift. With my previous car, the stock ZR1 front splitter was $1800 USD, at $175 I am considering leaving the option off my build and keeping my $3500 in my pocket.

Happy to hear that it is inexpensive to repair. Anyone still holding on to your gt3 can help me rear clearence just after the rear wheels? I wonder if i need to modify my wheel stoppers at home.

I will give you my opinion. The lip may very well be cheap. However, when my car was on the lift one day, I inspected it closely. The lip is almost an integral part of the front bumper and not a simple clip on. If you are are talking about soft scrapes only, then I agree it is not necessary to get the lift. Anything more substantial than that and you risk damaging the whole front bumper. If I am to spec the car again, I would still get the lift for sure.

I couldn't get a 997.2 gt3 to clear the ramp onto the 4 post lift I'm planning on using for my 991 GT3 without activating the lifter. Therefore, getting the lift option was a must for me.
