Cool Pair of great white 991 GT3's get Shark-a-fied & Exhaust Released

Had a pair of white shark'd 991 GT3's spotted in Norcal this Friday. First up this nicely-optioned new white 2014 991 GT3 drops by for a tasty sharkification via our Shark Werks GT3 Sport exhaust. Just like all GT3 models that came before it the 991 is no different, too many mufflers that need to be uncorked...

In she comes:

Black wheels, ceramics and those new tires:

Holy seat buttons batman!

Nothing to see move along!

This is what we're here for (and notice the engine cover). Three mufflers deep and we're going to remove the center for some improved tunes:

With the 991 GT3 no bumper removal is required and the installation can be done within an hour:

Off come the tips first:

Loosen the center exhaust factory clamps/hardware and it pulls right out:

Just a quick step onto the scales for the factory one:

And the Shark Werks exhaust (12.2 pound saving off the bum):

And installed:

Our exhaust is designed to re-use the rather attractive factory tips (or our racier ones if you like). You'd never know the car has been sharkafied until you hit that exhaust valve switch:

And ready to go home again:

Next up was another white one also for ze Shark Werks Sport exhaust. In she rolls:

Ceramics and grey wheels on this fella:

This one is also nicely optioned with some red stitching, carbon and other treats:

Time for James to attack that killyjoy third muffler. No bumper removal is requied:

Gone along with an unnecessary extra 16 pounds of weight on the bum:

Shark-a-fied properly and with the large stock tips back on:

And ready to prowl some Northern California waters:

A quick clip of it:

dont get how this works. looks like remove the stock muffler box and replace with a straight through bypass. but then how does the sport button valves still work? arent they in the stock box?

Like the other 991s, the GT3 comes with three mufflers - one tucked behind each rear tire (see pic below) and a center muffler in the back. The sport button effects the side mufflers. The Sharkwerks exhaust replaces the center muffler only.

oh didn't know that. I had a 997 gt3 and I pulled the valve solenoid so it would always stay open. sounded nice but got the dreaded drone at 65 mph.

Yep I would always recommend keeping the valve button/function in tact. It's nice to have

Cheers and we did this primarily for sound. Similar set ups on the .7gt3 did yield 5hp or so but...

Default I'll bite...

interesting about the new engine undertray ... must clean up the undercar airflow at the back, but also increase engine temps?

dont worry, Porsche Exclusive will offer a "slotted version" of the undertray as an option.
