GT3 Hill Hold Function
#16
I think the manual, dare I say, is wrong. I believe the light comes on when the hill hold function is engaged, in other 991 cars. I had that in the C4S and the Turbo S where on a steep incline, the brakes will engage with the instrument "hold" light on until the throttle is touched. In the GT3, it is a temporary hold to allow one to get to the throttle without rolling back. Why is the hold light present in the GT3? Well, it's cheaper to use the same instrument cluster and have one function not used than to manufacture a whole new one for a limited production car. It is still green, not yellow or red, so I doubt it comes on as a warning in case of failure. This is my interpretation, could be wrong.

The description of the 991 GT3 hill hold as temporary hold sounds identical to the gen 1 PDK hill hold. Only ~2 sec hold, and then release and roll back unless brake or throttle was engaged. Gen 2 PDK (991 Carrera, Turbos, and Pans) engaged until throttle depressed. My 2013 Cayenne works as hold until throttle as well but it is a Tiptronic not PDK.
