Hey guys, I have a Q3 Production For my car. Still waiting to hear back from my SA and see if PTS Riviera Blue is an OK. My question is since my car is being built in The 3rd Q of 2014 (july 1st-Sept 30th) What is the usual time gap from start of production to delivery? Thanks

My car entered production on 11/15/13 and was delivered to me on the West Coast on 1/13/14. That's two months, which depends somewhat on whether you get lucky with the timing of getting a car on a ship, how long it's held up in customs, etc. Being on the East Coast (I assume from your location info) you can probably knock close to a couple of weeks off of the travel time.

Thanks Mike, My only concern is even if the production starts in july, You have to remember most factory are closed august in Germany so that 1month could push back the delivery quite a bit.

I believe production take just three days, so if it starts in July, it should complete in July .

It's true the factory is shut down for most of August, so that may affect when production starts for your car. But once it's built, I don't think they would let it sit around for a month even if it was built right before the shutdown. The shipping process should continue for a while even after the actual production line has shut down.
I could be wrong, but I'd still expect around two months from the time it's finished to the time you get it.

My dealer thought PTS would delay production by 3 to 6 months.
I've still not made my mind up if I will go forward with PTS or not, but would be looking at Riviera Blue or Mexico Blue if I do.

Hey Nate, Not sure yet. Still waiting to hear back from my SA, I know 3 months will feel very long on top of the existing wait for me, But it will be well worth it
I will go with Riviera blue if PTS gets a green light.

I was going to go pts, but after looking at 997 gt3 in various pts colors, I think it looks better on an rs. Def wasn't worth a 3-6 month delay...
Any standard color looks great on this car.

Larry Cable, Usually how long does PTS add to the process? Nice 997 by the way, Can you elaborate on the difference between Mexico and Riviera seeing as you have a Mexico beauty

If you order outside these windows, then your order has to be scheduled during them, hence potential delays

basically MB is slightly darker (blue/red) than RB which is slightly lighter (yellow/green) in hue ... but unless you park them side by side its hard to tell the difference!
of course ...
Mexico IS BETTER!
