Yes, if you are close enough to Stable Energies to try one on, that's a good move. The pro shop at New Jersey Motorsports Park will also have helmets available to try on if you are doing any events there this spring.

As stated above, you must try them on. I tried Arai, Stilo, OMP, HJC, and none fit properly. Bell fit like a glove so I bought a Vortex GT.

Shops with good selection and inventory are not on every corner in most of the country so you might have to travel a bit. The link you posted looks pretty good, though.

Definitely try before you buy, wearing your glasses if applicable, and make sure you can slip the communicator in and out without too much difficulty and that the earpiece is comfortable. Leave the helmet on for a while to see if it stays comfortable. Make sure it's at least pre-drilled for a HANS (get one!). Also, some tracks require full face.

Unless you have full 6pt harness, there's no reason to buy a Hans...
but if you are spending a lot of time on the track then definitely upgrade to roll bar, race seats, 6pt harness, Hans device and of course a helmet that will accept Hans anchors...
aka "the slippery slope"

A lot on the track? No,that's not me. Just a few events a year.
I wish I had time to do a lot more...

Hi neanicu

We'd love to have you stop by the store and we can spend some time with you fitting you for the proper helmet. We have plenty of styles and sizes in stock for you to try, even some new models just released by bell like the GT5 and the GP2 Carbon.

Tell us you found us on Rennlist when you come by!

good luck w/ your helmet search. Quality is important here. You dont want to skimp on a helmet. This is a word of advice from a cheap guy.
