Hello to all Rennlisters, especially those on the GT3 forum.
I've been lurking here since last summer, first becoming interested in a GT3 over 4 years ago after driving a neighbor's 997.2 GT3. It was quite a thrill, especially comparing it to my 08 Turbo. I put my deposit down last fall at Porsche of San Diego and was next up on their allocation list. I've been patiently waiting word on my allocation, passing the time reading everyone's posts about this beast, when I got a call from Chris Huck at PSD offering me a GT3 that the original buyer decided to back out!! Wow. I got down to the dealer ASAP and checked it out. It had a few options I wouldn't have ordered (like PCCB, carbon interior bits and clear tail lights), but overall it matched the specs I was considering. Chris was able to find a customer that pulled his red tail lights off, so we traded and I only had to pay for 30 minutes of labor for the switch out. I was quite jazzed to get into this car 7 or 8 months earlier than expected! I want to give a big shout out to Chris Huck, he took care of me.
I had Evan Rowe with Auto Armor install the Xpel Ultimate and will have ClearPlex installed to protect the windshield and Llumar ceramic window tinting.
I picked the car up one week ago and its exceeded my expectations. Although its been pure torture during the break in! This is my fifth Porsche, having owned a 1989 3.2 Carrera, 1998 Boxster, 2006 Carrera S and a 2008 Turbo, I have to say this car is stunning. I was a little worried about missing the manual transmission in my sports car, but I can honestly say that this PDK is a blast. My DD is a '13 F10 M5 with the dual clutch and having previously owned a '03 E39 M5 I was unsure if I wanted to have my first GT3 not have a third pedal. So far I've been quite pleased. I can't wait to rev it to 9,000! To all those still waiting, I feel your pain. Just know this: ITS WORTH THE WAIT.

congrats! you definitely got lucky with how everything played out. There is no doubt that this car is worth the 8-12mo wait that most people are being quoted right now.
Enjoy in good health!

Third pic is with rear clears. I have the clear side markers on order. Last pic and this
is what I'm looking forward to doing soon in the GT3.

Congrats David! I believe I saw your car in the showroom recently. Confirmed my decision to order white ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Agree, Evan from Auto Armour is phenomenal.
I'm in SD and also run with the POC. Would love to grab a coffee sometime and check out your beast. Funny - I also have a F10 M5, so would be great to chat about your opinions of the two (very different) cars.
Sadly, my GT3 doesn't arrive into Porsche San Diego until may.
Cheers!
