Devils Advocate- The things I don't like about my GT3

I have come to the point were a lot of the creature comforts that I'm used to have become distant memories. I don't expect to see out of my rear view mirror, I don't expect a rear view camera, I don't expect to glide through traffic in my DCT, etc. But the car is amazing, its a sports car so I like hearing the noises, I like getting beat up in traffic. It's my little reminder that my little cocoon of metal is my slice of heaven.
As far as comparing my BMW's to the Porsche you are right they are completely different cars, but I would be as bold to say that in my F10 M5 I could run circles around 997 GT3's (As Frayed mentioned the M5 is much easier to push to the limit than the GT3) Also all I've known is M's on the track so I'm sure with time I will be just as comfortable in this thing as I did in my previous cars.
As far as the car in general, it is wonderful wonderful wonderful. I can't think of a better car that I have ever been in or driven and I wouldn't exchange the "rawness" of the car for creature comforts. The car is a blast and I find myself laughing by myself when I drive it (I'm pretty sure people next to me think I'm on drugs).
I had to seriously observe the car to find these flaws and the only way I found them is when I got it to a track. If I was going to just have this car on the road then I dare someone to find me a car that is better than it for an amateur or an expert. For me the first time on the track was overwhelming due to my own learning curve with the car.

As I one who is getting in his GT3 in a couple of months, I believe this is a healthy thread and much needed. No doubt the car is terrific but we all need to keep a balanced prospective. The car is not perfect and I for one would like to hear what other owners are finding.

Easiest car to drive on track for me was a student's '90s BMW 3-series. Felt like it pivoted slowly around the front, super easy to throttle steer, difficult to spin it. But I'll take the 911 experience over that any day.

I've never had an M5 (E39, E60, or F10), but having seen some at the track, how can you even try to compare them for track driving? It's bloated and heavy. The GT3 (all variants) should be the one running circles around the M5. Now for a road car, that's a different story. The M5 has all the luxuries for a road only car.

let s say it all the marketing VW guru designed
the car to impress on Nurburgring
but out there the car under 5000RPM is weak
What a great perfect car would have been
with a better torque distribution
less fast on green hell but what a car

+1 for the benign-ness of the E36 M3's balance. There is definitely a learning curve going from that to a GT3. But on the other hand the GT3 is completely on a different plane in performance.
