Even if you have an additional umbrella policy, that's too low liability coverage for a person with the financial wherewithal to afford a CGT.

If I wanted a $0 deductible on collision and comprehensive it would be... wait for it... $17,800. Shows how wacked out it is... An additional $14k to reduce the deductible $500. I'll report back when I talk to my agent. Hopefully just an online issue.

That would be great, silverrules, thx. I'm going to explore several options. I've had decent experience with Mercury, my current insurer. The rate on my '09 C2S was $850/year with 100/250/500 coverage and $500 deductible. But with the GT3 the quote was for $3250/year with $1000 deductible! The car wasn't in their system yet and I'm pretty sure that after seeing the pics I had to send them, the underwriter pulled the numbers right out of his/her a$$. At around $1400, at least I have a fairly reasonable fall back position with GEICO.

Geico has insured all my cars (Ferrari's. Porsche's and BMW's) for years and I could not say enough good things about them. Very reasonably priced and their service IMO is the best in the business.

Mike, they write direct. You can call them now and get a quote.

I failed to mention they have a terrific Mechanical Breakdown plan. There is a $250 deductible and it is good for seven years or 100,000 miles. It is excess over the car warranty. It you plan to keep the car long it is worth buying. A monthly payment added to your premium. I believe it is around $6 a month.

I used it with my Cayenne which was nothing but trouble for me. Thankfully I had the coverage.

GEICO's prices rock. I have our two BMWs with them and was quoted $428 for six months. Granted I had to use my 2010 VIN as GEICO does not yet have a listing for a 2014 GT3. They showed a Carrera and a GT2RS, wrong year too. Anyway, I figure less than $150 more than my 2010 annually for the new car. So, under $1000 for the year with top coverage, $500 deductible collision and $250 comp, is good.

Yeah, they offered the 7 year maintenance plan as well. I didn't get a quote for it, but good to know after 4 years.

The car has to be less than 15 months old and have less than 15,000 miles.

FWIW, Geico would not give the coverage on my Ferrari's but did provide it for my 997.2 TT cab.

Thanks, Nick. I got a quote online but didn't pay that much attention to the mechanical breakdown rider. I'll check it out!

My current gieco policy does have an umbrella coverage.
To be accurate, the individual GT3 coverage is 300 coverage for individual/300 per incident at 1400.00 per year.
The umbrella is only 330.00 per year which I currently pay but what it does is add additional 1M to the above coverage. If I opt to take the 300/500, the rate increase can not be justified as all I need to do is increase the umbrella to 2M for an additional 200.00 per year.

Talked to my agent - $1700 / yr for 100/100/300 and $500 deductible. That's much better than the $3600 that was quoted online. I am going to look at moving everything to State Farm as a good friend there owns an agency. Wll report back if I discover anything.
