Great thread - I was asking myself the same Q!
Prior to the 991 GT3. The earlier models stated 3 year rust warranty on them in the warranty manual. What does the 991 GT3 warranty manual state, maybe someone can look at theirs?

Here is what is in the 2011 warranty guide

Corrosion Limited Warranty - Unlimited Mileage* 12 years
* Except for 911 GT2 & GT3, which are warrantied for 3 years. See page 33.

With PDK it could be. But it's going to be a stiffer ride than the C2S. I ordered one. I am hoping it can be an occasional DD. If it is I will probably sell my turbo. My 11 GT3RS was not.

We are driving our GT3 in the winter and its a blast to say the least! Its a fairly comfortable car, it has everything you can possible need while providing a superior driving experience all year round! I for one don't believe in buying a car just letting it sit like that

How are the tires holding up in the snow? Are you planning on swapping for winter wheels?

For the 991 GT3 there is still a reduction in the corrosion warranty relative to the other models, but it's now 4 years with no mileage limit instead of 3.

Thanks, 4 years is better then 3. Even so I wouldn't be driving one in winter even if it had 12 years.

Why is it that they limit the corrosion warranty?

My guess is less rust proofing and less plastic panels in wheel arches to save weight.

I think driving a very expensive car on snowy, icy salted roads is just asking for it even if you are a pro everyone else is not.

And here is another one. Of course I am driving on Michelin PA4. The car was so stable and never had any trouble where most other cars struggled. The ride improves significantly if you are riding on tires other than Michelin Cups, and the car is still so much stable and more planted than standard 911 S or 911 4S wearing same tires. I should know as I also own 2013 911 4s, and 2013 Boxster S.

I'd be MUCH more concerned with those other vehicles around you, but well done... point made!

In my neck of the woods, we call guys like you a "nut job" in the highest form of flattery.

LOL.... This all seem too familiar. I am also called that in my neck of the woods, and by most of my buddies and usually in the highest form of flattery but not always. Are you sure we are not from the same neck of the woods? Regardless this certainly make you of my buddies!!!
