A number of guys on Pistonheads (UK board) are hearing a production delay is coming. No information as to why.
I am at Rolex 24 in Daytona and have heard that production of the GT3 now somehow involves the motor sports division. In addition it was suggested that the GT America / Cup production was partially responsible for the delay.
Good friend ran into the PCNA South Regional rep, mentioned a buddy (me) has an allocation but no order window. Rep asked what model. When he heard GT3 he just shook his head, wouldn't comment any further.

Ugh. My car has already been delayed from an early December build to an end of January build...
Am hoping I don't get pushed yet again.
Yeah. I just threw up a little too.

No keep your Gt3 and just drink more if it gets recalled. My "pioneer" 991's first (of several ) recalls resulted in it being at dealer for two weeks straight. Long story. But I am still a porsche fan, car made up for it once I got the car back. I had a loaner panamera in the mean time.

reidry's post suggests that GT America / Cup production may be partially responsible for the delay. It may simply be a production capacity issue. At this point it's all pure speculation.
I don't know if it is at all comforting, but before my car was built in December, there were widespread rumors of production delays ranging up to a couple of months. My car was actually delivered 11 days earlier than my original tracking schedule predicted.

I ordered my car Nov. 11 and looks like it will be delivered Mid March. Four months is great I think and these rumors were there all along. Porsche make a lot of different cars and they juggle things around like Mike mentioned. As it appears my car will be delivered couple weeks early. Don't worry guys.
