Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum and seek your advice. I've made an appointment with my dealer to place a deposit on my second GT3 (997.1 being my first) and first RS tomorrow. No dilemma with options or desired specs but I will be number 5 on the list for allocation, which seems deep. This dealer has received and sold multiple RS models each year released. Do I take the chance or swing a standard GT3 for a 2015 build. I will be tracking 2-3 times per year and using as a weekender. I also have a dedicated track e36 m3 being prep'd for this coming season. Thank you in advance -Tim

For 2-3 times a year tracking and since you have another track car, I would say a standard GT3 would do the job better -- unless the RS is 300lbs lighter and came with a manual.

It sounds like track time with the RS will be fairly minimal and you already have a dedicated track car. Also, being #5 on the list would make me a little nervous. If it were me I'd choose the GT3, as the incremental performance difference will be meaningless as a weekender.
That said, the question is whether you feel you NEED an RS for whatever reason and will be unhappy if you don't get one. Only you can answer that. If I were you I might consider seeing if I could get a higher slot at a different dealer. Good luck with your choice.

I appreciate your opinions and comments. I've decided to go RS. I may be late in the game but the feeling in my stomach is overwhelming. I am obsessed with this model.
