In the FWIW category, initial test fit & run-in of Forgeline's 19" PCCB rim with a set of Michelin Cup2's fitted.
Initial Test fit of Forgeline 19" wheel over 991 GT3 with PCCB - rear tire, 325/30 x19 vs OEM 305/35 x20, weight savings over OEM @9lbs rear
Temporarily misplaced notes on Tires+Rims rough weight delta for:
Front 235/40 x19 vs OEM 245/35 x20 &
The rear 325/30 x19 vs 305/30 x20.
IIRC, the total tire, Cup2's, plus rims, 19" vs. 20", differences were @ 10-11 lbs less per front, & @ 9 lbs less per rear, notwithstanding the +40mm rear tread width gain in going from a 305mm to a 325mm rear section width. Can't tell yet what effect, if any the loss of 20mm, -10mm per side, in the front has, or what adding section width to the rear while decreasing it in the front has on handling.
Last, FWIW, this is a VERY tight fit in the front over the 410mm rotors, and while it would seem an "easier" solution vis-à-vis the rear, smaller diameter rotors, the install guidelines failed to mention that the rear brake line bracket/holder, at least on my car, made contact with the inside 19' barrel and had to be "massaged" (bent a bit I gather) out of the way. I'd guess Forgeline ought to be able to release final "as made/manufactured" official rim weights now for the wheels by themselves - they are lighter by quite a bit over the OEM rims. As for relative strengths, . . . . . . I'm going on Forgeline's reputation for making a great rim.
Is anyone running 325/30x20 tires on their OEM rims? After some experimentation with 19" front and rear, I think I'm going to try out a "reversed" stagered setup - keep the GT3 OEM 20" front with 245/35x20 and use a 19" rear 325/30x19.
FWIW, the calculated tire size/diameter options off the Miata Tire Calculator vis-a-vis the GT3RS OEM 265/35x20 Fronts & 325/30x21 rear fitment:
