Default GT3 already spe'd out

One of the sales guys at my dealer mentioned there is San Diego dealer that is charging $20K over sticker for already spec'd out GT3 and he also said you cant change the options. Is this really true? Does anyone have one got one of these cars on order?

Sh$t dealers do it all the time. There sale manager specs out the car and then tag on the extra $$. Of course the reason they do it is some fool is willing to pay the extra.

My dealer in San Diego states he will not up charge on GT3 orders. There is one other dealer and he is located in Carlsbad a community about 15 miles north of SD. The name is Hoehn Porsche. He sells all makes of cars.

I know Walter's Porsche is doing the same thing. They have two 170k MSRP cars coming in, leather everything, deviating this, deviating that...a whole bunch of BS options.

As far as how much the mark-up is...they are "going to see what the market demand is."

not just Porsche dealers....our local Honda dealer (First Texas Honda) tried to ask me for a 5K markup on their first 2014 Odyssey.

^^I don't know if you're joking about the $5K, but I will say that I walked into a Honda dealership before and asked about the Odyssey and the salesman gave me attitude. I asked if he could let me know when a white one became available and he said that I "should just come in and check myself because once they arrive, they sell themselves."

The people that pay over MSRP probably don't even know they paid over sticker. They probably look at the bottom right price on the sticker. The reality comes in when they check the Kelly BB

I sure will try for discount when the car is delivered. I did get $5K discount on the TT but this one wont be easy. I be happy with $4K off. We all should. Heck, that would pay for ~50% of the PCCB

How does one get a discount when they deliver the car and your leverage is not optimal because they already have $5,000 from you in a deposit?

I have never put deposit on any of my build cars and the leverage is reducing buying so many cars from them. They know better. We buy few cars from these guys

I think USA rules are different.. Buyers can always back out of a purchase, and dealer is left holding a potentially tough to sell vehicle (weird spec like mahogany brown etc).. Having said that, I still think it would be tough to get discount leverage with a gt3.. Kudos to those who try and succeed.

I'm not joking. They pushed a paper with $54995 across the table. We were in a rush to get a minivan with the 3rd on the way, my wife was 3 weeks away from popping...and the 2014 model has an upgraded front crash structure to pass the new small overlap crash test. We had been talking to the dealer for a while and they promised no haggle pricing when the 2014s came in...etc...they tried to take advantage of the situation.

@ShakeNBake -- That's horrible to hear. It's ridiculous for any dealer to do that, and somehow it rubs me even worse that it's a Honda dealer for basically the most "family-centric" of vehicles.

Toyo and Honda dealers are the same. They sell 30 to 40 cars a day on a Monday and don't frankly care if you walk out. Last time I walked they never called back. I had to call those suckers and agree to their terms and I though I was good at negotiating

hoehn DOES AND CONTINUES TO chg over msrp on gt cars. I know bc they charged me. fk that. I bought CL ***** in bulk suck that.

Honda dealers. shop them online. once proce is set, I want the subject car parked I show too and photo retaken with time stamp on it, then I go and buy it. I have odyssey. they don't sell themselves. most honda sales cannot tell one end of a car from the other end of a refrigerator. if they cannot do what I de robes above, I move on. I have all my interns call. we hit abot 100 dealers in 60 min. some won't sale to me, fine. their loss. I want sales guys who are hungry. they are out their.
