agreed, they all look beautiful.
that is because those period colours work well on period cars with the chrome trim and lean panels/glass.
hard to transfer that elegant look to the newer models.

I think I'm going Anthracite Brown Metallic.

I can't wait for PTS and I love BROWN...

Wondering what the difference is between that and Mahogany because the online builder shows very little difference.

ABM is a beautiful colour IMO. It has grey under tones. Mahogany has purple/reddish under tones. If I were getting an ordinary 991, I would have gotten ABM.

I tend to agree though some colors look great on the new metal and old.

Larry Cables mexico blue GT3 looks stunning. I think gulf blue looks great on the new cars as well.

Aw... shucks!

thinking the new 991 would look great in Mexico, Maritime or Voodoo Blue!

Larry, do you get the sense that such an unusual color (mexico) is polarizing? I'm betting folks at the track, gas stations, etc come by to check it out and comment on the color choice.

TOTALLY, you either love it or you think it looks like some toy you got for your kid at the gas station for buying a full tank of gas ... interestingly since getting the car I have had a significant number of people express interest in it, because its MB! (not just because its mine )

My car for example was a dealer spec (there were two actually the other at another location in S Ca) both cars sat on the lots for months ... when I started looking back in early 2011 there were very few cars out there, the 2x MBs, I think one or 2 RB's, and a maritime blue car ... all of which seemed to be gathering dust then boom ... they all suddenly sold.

I'm a big blue fan, my 7.1 was cobalt blue, and if I trade up to a 991, it will be Mexico, Maritime or Voodoo!

I just think that grays, silvers, whites, etc are for BMWs and M-B's ... a GT3 should be seen and heard!

One of the reasons I never got a 7.2 RS was I could not get PTS at the time, and I really did not "dig" any of the combos...

that's what I would think, very polarizing. I love voodoo but wonder if it's too dark to really show off the car.

The "problem" with PTS (vs selecting a "stock" color) is that its very difficult to apriori decide if you will like it, since you cant (easily) find a real car painted in your color of choice, and photos just are not accurate enough for the job!

I dont think I would have picked my cars color without actually seeing it, and when you see it next to Riviera you can (in direct sunlight) see the difference which is not remotely obvious in photos...

having said that ... I think if you have a passion, a PTS GT3 is a "must have" ...

If it helps, my car is the same color as San Francisco's domestic recycling bins!

Whoa! Hopefully the hungover trash collector doesn't try to pick your car up with hydraulics to empty its contents.

whats worse is that they look even more alike since I fitted the HRE satin black wheels on the GT3 ... I'll post pictures!

fortunately my recycling can doesn't have PCCB's (they are a total waste of money on a recycling can... the stock steels are fine)

Default is it fate???

So with all this talk of cars...

well...

look ...

I'm not to blame...

I'm weak ... I have no self control ...

I went onto the Porsche.com car configurator...

and I selected "PTS - non metalic" ... black wheels & PCCB

and it came up with this:
