Default Production Dates

There are some posts on another forum (Teamspeed) about "rumors" of production dates getting pushed back--even up to 1-2 months. This is the first I've heard of it (even in rumor form...).

Has anyone heard anything about this?

Someone posted "rumors" here a couple of weeks back that German forums were talking about production delays. I've heard nothing from my rep about this.

@Mike in CA -- Thanks for the reply. Me too--I've heard nothing about this either. But the mere thought of additional waiting...argh.

This may be related to an earlier (I believe a couple of weeks ago) rumor on this site taken from a German car forum indicating GT3 production delays because of "engine issues". There has not been any confirmation of this delay. By now we would have been told.

Well, last week while I was at the dealership, my salesperson told me they got notification from Porsche about production delays. He went on to say that he checked my vehicle and it was "not affected by the delay", FWIW.

@SamFromTX -- Do you have the front lift? What is your production month?

Based on what my dealer is telling me, I wouldn't be too surprised if there were some delays.

This is what I have been told along the process by my dealer:
- At order confirmation: week 28 production finish, ETA week 35.
- Early July: week 34 production finish, ETA week 41.
- End of July: week 36 production finish, ETA week 44.

Explanation from the Brand Manager at the dealer: "We had an e-mail from Porsche Middle East to say that the GT3 production in general is slightly delayed but we can take the dates currently showing on the system as confirmed. [...] as we now had an official e-mail regarding the delay, I can only assume this is a global issue."

It's not what any of us wants to hear, but still...

Im having trouble with clarity from my dealer. Nov, then Oct now Nov again. It appears there are delays but I thought it could be RHD only. Its clear from what Ive heard that the factory have had to make some hard decisions on what markets get which allocations as its clear their total production volume for this model is under thread by other models/special editions etc taking capacity during the models short run life.

Yes, I ordered the front axle lift. My production month so far is October, with delivery date early December. I wonder if this will hold true, though, because my last car arrived at the dealership exactly 4 weeks from production date.

Spoke with the manager at the dealership -- they haven't been officially notified of delays at this point, but he said that he had heard similar rumblings, perhaps to do an issue with one of the parts suppliers.

Who knows. In the end, we're all at the mercy of the factory anyway...
