I like to say; The best car in the world needs the Italians to design it, the Germans to engineer it and the Japanese to build it.

That is some sexy beast!

My 991S is looking rather pedestrian. Need to check my lottery numbers . . . .

Congrats for markow on the 458..rare colour..although the blue wheels are not my taste..but its a Ferrari..and not a Porsche. From that point of view..probably the better decision than the 991 Gt3..at least the 458 has been there for some time..

@CarManDSL: interesting project you have there 962 - would you tell us a bit more..also about that 914-6 GT? thanks..

yes...but in reality such a car doesnt exist..from all the super sportscars..all of them have some flaws..the least - from an design point of view - for me - has the 4-12..but then it lacks that "fire" that a ferrari of lambo have...difficult world...I know..

the wheels are grigio scuro. they seem blu because of a white balance issue of the
jpg.

very limited 2 day ownership experience: i did a 120km drive into the hills south of maranello yesterday and a 400km round trip drive today from bologna to pavia (mostly highway). i LOVE the looks of the car, it is just spectacular, a piece of art. in fact i get very nervous when motorbikes and scooters overtake me from left and right in the city, getting very close---)))
the suspension is excellent, even on bad roads, never wearing. sound is WONDERFUL, particularly beyond 5K revs ---)). the gear box is excellent, altough i miss the decoupling of it from the electronic nannies (see BMW M5).
it is very nice to drive a ferrari in italy, lots of thumbs up, even from the police---)))
more serious: the car is super-planted, very hard to upset. steering is very direct but not nervous. the f458 is soooooo much more stable than my C4S 997 at >180km/h. i hated the light feel of the front of the 997 and the need to correct at even semi-legal speeds (although i understand 911 hardliners love it and call it 'characteristic').
i am still sceptical about interior looks of the f458 (prefer the GT3 991) and about the info-entertainment system. very contorted logics.

Built a few 962's with Fabcar chassis's as well as my own with OEM patterns. All car's provided as complete rollers - everything except engine. Been working on my own road version, starting with Vern Schuppans road project molds, however heavily modified. Project stalled at the moment but some day . . .

The 914/6 was an original 6 that I did a 2000hr restoration, flares and other parts GT stuff, but had a 2.7, completed in 1991. Lives in New York city in a mechanics shop as a display show piece.

Cheers
