With the huge improvements in the 991 GT3 (Wide Body, RWS, Faster PDK, 475 HP, and a Hockenheim Lap
Time of 1:08, faster than the 620 HP GT2RS, 500 HP GT3RS 4.0, 612 HP Carrera GT, 600 HP McLaren,
647 HP Corvette ZR1, 670 HP Lamborghini and 570 HP Ferrari 458, I don't see what improvements can
be made on the coming GT3RS which will make it substantially faster. At 9000 RPM and 475 HP the 3.8L
Engine is at or extremely close to its limits of N/A reliable HP. The Transmission speed is at or close to its maximum shifting speed, the Chassis width is close to its maximum, and the suspension is at or near
its development limits. Little "excess weight" remains to be found, and certainly a few pounds will not move the needle much.Yes, a larger more effective Wing could be used - but that can easily be added
the GT3 (Crawford Performance would be delighted to oblige, as they did on my 993 GT2 race car.)
From the Hockenheim Lap Time, I suspect the Ring Time can be significantly further reduced provided
that marketing factors (GT3 vs TTS) do not intrude. Where will the GT3RS get its additional performance from?

This is just the beginning. Just wait for 991.2 GT3.
It is a good thing you are not my engineer . . . I'd fire you! (With all due respect!)

The race car is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six that produces 460 hp at 7500 rpm.
In 2013, the GT3 Cup will run exclusively in Porsche's Mobil 1 Supercup, costing its owners €181,200 before taxes or roughly $242,500
Porsche has developed new 18-inch aluminum wheels with a central-locking mechanism

Patience is a virtue, Nick, and I'm not very virtuous! I've been told an allocation is forthcoming but it hasn't shown up in the computer yet. I'm #1 on my dealers list but am getting antsy the longer this drags on without something definitive. My dealer does good volume but isn't a giant one so I have some concerns about what's going on......

Ditto with my Florida Mid-Size Premier Dealer. My November allocation was confirmed last week but as of yesterday (Friday, 6/28) normal follow-up computer screen confirming manufacturing and anticipated shipment dates was not yet been posted. My salesman apologized and advised that is highly unusual. He does not have any explanation either. Obviously we are not alone.

Wider front and rear tires
Wider wheels
200-300% more downforce
even closer gearing
Lots of lightening (CF hood, lighter seats, CF deck lid, Titanium muffler, etc)
An extra 25Hp (9200rpm, tuning and exhaust)
With the rumored (unconfirmed) 7:25 lap on the 991 GT3, and a 997GT2RS already reported at 7:18, it would not surprise me they are shooting for the 997 GT2 RS lap time with the new 991 GT3 RS. With the 997.2 GT3RS they dropped 7 secs at the Ring compared to the 997.2 GT3, and the weight on the two cars was about the same (in Europe they both get the CGT seats as options).
A GT3RS lapping at 7:18 would be awesome.
