Daily Driver 991 GT3
I just recently sold the GTR and was looking forward to a GT3. My dealer told me its a track only car, and said its not good for the streets. What are your thoughts? When Chris Harris was driving it, it seemed relatively quiet and mild mannered when he wasn't standing on it.
Thanks for the input?

sounds like it's designed for easier daily use- - -should be perfect- minus the auto box

Frankly it depends on your tolerance for a car like this. Did you DD the GTR? if so you'll probably be fine as a DD in GT3. I've a .1RS and "I" could DD drive it... but not everyone could or would.

Hard to know the small things that make a car tolerable/intolerable as a DD without spending some time with it but it's very likely to be better than the previous version, and some people drive them daily. It's low; around here the front axle lift would be a must unless you don't mind replacing parts.
Stiil, as mentioned above it depends on your tolerance; it wouldn't be my choice for a DD.

It will be louder than a regular Carrera, it will be firmer than a regular Carrera but for me these are both positive! With PDK now it will be more DD friendly than ever but your limiting factor will be ground clearance and access. Be sure to spec the front lift if you go down this path and depending on where you live, be prepared to leave it home... multi storey carparks, steep driveways and certain other situations make accessibility tricky with GT cars ...

Unless giant traffic jams or very steep SF streets I think they are super comfy...

My 2013 C4S PDK is my daily driver and I have put 9,000 + miles on it since I got it this January. I sometimes drive it in Sport Plus mode (and "manual" or it won't upshift until redline) and it is difficult to tolerate on anything but the smoothest roads. If the GT3 is firmer, it may be tricky. That said, it is my plan to use the GT3 as a DD.

Your dealer is an idiot. Find another salesman.
the 991 GT3 is all about daily driving.
Besides, the only real track car that porsche sells is the cup car.
We all know that porsche voids warranty on track use

I don't buy a $150K+ sports car every other year, so I'm probably a little more **** and sensitive about what I use as a DD than some. We all have our priorities.

this is your most logical post in quite a while!
good to see you doing fine lol
i agree 100%
over here, the latest fashion is to find large-ish rocks/boulders on the road that have fallen from overladen trucks.
i have had to switch lanes many times to avoid them. hate to think of the damage underneath. in the merc i just sail over them, golf is low. gt3, lower.

agree: He must drive a Prius. It depends on if you want to deal with the challenges of a GT3 for everyday use. If you work in San Francisco where the roads just blow, it will take imagination to navigate. DO not trust cup holders and I hope the interior is still too noise to bother with a stereo or cell phone.
