Thanks MEM82.
Unbelievable pace to 200kmph+!
Im glad I binned the white dials. They look way too busy in real life. That the first time Ive seen them on the car...

Interesting to see how much the revs need to be managed in 1st gear to put the power down until reaching about 72 kph, then it's smooth shifting from 2nd to 4th gear while keeping the revs very high. I wonder if this car will be better suited for the track than the street.

Not really. The need for revs and lack of low-end torque means the car is better for the high revs and high speeds of the track rather than goofing around on public roads and drag racing from traffic lights. This is of course setting aside how people may feel about manual not being offered, suitability of the seats and wheels, etc.

This is why Porsche makes other 911s.

Agreed. I suspect that the issue is more pronounced with this 9K rpm GT3, and that's a major reason why manual isn't offered. Driving it normally on the road with manual, it may feel sluggish, and trying to keep the revs up would be a burden. And many people would find themselves having to shift too often to try to keep up with the car. This is essentially what I found when I did back to back comparisons of the manual M3 vs the C63. For road use, the C63 was more satisfying. So maybe PDK-S is the right choice for this particular engine? Personally, I'd like to see a 4.2L engine in there with more mid-range punch and a manual trans. Or it would be nice to be able to buy a brand new 997 GT3RS, with full warranty and manual, for the same price as the 991 GT3!
