If the Turbo has a manual I may end up going that way but a 997 GT3/2 is also a very possible option. I suspect the Turbo will drop a lot of weight from the current model. Specially ones that are not fitted with 20" cl and pdk.

Another one bites the dust. Tomorrow Im getting my deposit back from my dealer.

May sound mean, but I hope Porsche loses a huge amount of GT3 sales. They wont listen to what buyers want, and they deserve to lose sales.

I asked for my deposit back on the 991 GT3, no manual, don't want it.

The issue is not that it has a PDK tranny, the issue is that it is the only option.
As far as I'm concerned Porsche just said F.U. to a large group of enthusiasts.

Looks like I'll be keeping my 997 GT3 for a long time.

heck, for the price of this new model, I can get the Nissan and a 6/7 Cup car and have my cake and eat it too

I got to start looking for the right 997.2 GT3RS before the prices increase. 4.0 will almost be impossible to find now!!!

US buyers convinced BMW to release the E60 M5 with manual. We need some of that same mojo

time will change everything.
it's like when the price of beer goes up. everybody grumbles and moans for a couple of weeks, then all is forgotten and the flow is back to normal.

BMW also has said in top gear that its the last time they will do it. They didn't sell enough and the manual version was garbage just to appease the apparent thousands who wanted a manual but they actually sold very few.

They listened; problem is they were at dealer meeting held at Starbuck's.

I get what the OP is saying, but...

The goal of the GT3 for a while has been a car that can be driven every day and then is a beast on the track. Purist our not, if the goal is lap times, the PDK is the way to go. Even the pros use this technology when real money is involved.

I love my MT (heel/toe and all that), but I get why the PDK is in the GT3. It's the future of performance driving like it or not.

Initially, yes. But sales will fall like a rock not too long after.

It would sell like hotcakes with a manual too.

Oh and
Rear steering........

Ugh.

Such a shame for such a fantastic looking car.

it will depreciate faster then the normal GT3/RS arc has been over the last few years because the only real reason this car holds market value is the second-hand sales to people like us who are enthusiasts.

it's a very odd car if you really take a step back and look at it-

it will be the best performing regular GT3 because of the goodies- but the suspension is a real turn off to "bling buyers" and they will be forced to dump them since so many of you guys who wanted a manual won't be buying...it is going after a larger audience but that audience is more fickle and is cross shopping with audi R8 v10, Aston martin, bentley GT, ferrari california, maserati 2-door, etc.

all those cars have something in common: they are not TRACK CARS. the GT3 is a track car and selling too many of them to non-enthusiasts will help initial sales, and increase the amount of trade ins, but in the end the 997.2 and 997.1 will be the last manual trans cars and as such will remain the car most of us drive 10 years from now (like the way the e36 is a ubiquitous track monster for many)

Are you kidding me? Dry sump 3.8 with 475 HP and Godzilla torque, Cup speed PDK and 7 close ratio gears and power up over 8k on the way to 9, and paddle that can slip the clutches. At a price just a bit north of what C4Sers have been paying (ok, bitching about). Holy titanium, Batman!
+1.

Left-foot braking!!

It will still sell despite what we think on rennlist. I won't be getting rid of my RS anytime soon
