If that buyer cannot get the F-series motor to throw the CEL next 10 months under remaining warranty that's >$70K invoice for motor replacement down the road, so >$170,000 seems overpriced in my opinion.
Will be interesting to watch the trend for the 991.1s with and without G6 motors.
They could just buy a warranty/service contract for it though.

Maybe try for 5k off.

Of course if they’ve had it on the lot a while you might have some leverage. I’ve also heard toward the end of the month. You can try for a better price.
I just bought a 458 spider for $40k less than original ask. They dropped it $20k and then I offered $20k less than that. This was a CPO car from a branded Ferrari dealer, not Jim’s used car lot. I currently have several cars saved that have dropped in price by $30-70k from original ask. You’d be surprised…money talks.

FWIW I just bought almost an identical car to this with ~30k miles (5k miles on the G6) for $126k private party, plus about $10k for a 6yr/80k mi Porsche Platinum Warranty.

That was me. The F engine blew up 2 weeks into ownership and it has a new G6 in it now.

Won the G6 lotto and obtained ownership at a steal! Excellent!

Nothing crazy. I did a handful of pulls to 9K RPM in auto "PDK SPORT" mode repeatedly. For example on a long stretch of open highway, put the car in Auto mode with "PDK SPORT" enabled, manually downshift to 2nd gear (say 5k RPM) and then floor it, and let the car shift itself automatically up to 3rd gear. If I had a really open stretch of road I'd do the same to the top of 3rd gear (although hard to do without going to jail).

I would do that back to back 3-5 times when possible. After doing that on maybe 6 different days it started to misfire occasionally up top. Then after a couple more days of doing that it would misfire consistently above 8600RPM in 2nd gear.

My engine did have 54k miles on it though, so I assume there was already wear beginning to happen before I did this. However when I first got the car it did not misfire at all.

A few months ago I started making a list of all reported failures, and the average mileage was around 20-25k, so you might be almost there.

Lots of info out there, but seems most E-series motors letting go 18-28k miles, and F-series letting go at double such interval. Makes sense since a bandaid was applied to the F-series motors.
Of course this is with some 'fun' driving and bouncing her off the redline which is stupid easy to do.
You'll know when you trigger the right misfire code(s) when the car goes into limp mode attempting to exceed 8,250k RPM.

From what I read, the early F motors are essentially the same design as the E1 engines. The "F" prefix just denotes the 2015 model year. There is a certain serial number where they started getting the updated engine design and it is fairly late into the 2015 production run. Mine was one of the earlier F engines without the improvements.
