Default Blackstone ****

So I thought I'd start this thread mainly to celebrate the awesomeness of the 991.1 GT3 and why now is the time to grab this future icon .

To preface things, my 2014 GT3 does have a replacement motor, a very late G0 series which I am little by little realising equates to a G6 for the most part. All the improved oiling and the same DLC as the current in box ready to ship units . Same bigger oil filter that is used for a G6 that older lumps did not require.

The car now has 56K of which 25ish K's are on the current motor which by the way pulls like a ****, no smoke and has an awesome mid range punch .

I sent Blackstone my oil a few weeks ago which had just under 2000 miles, but w/ 2 trackdays and ample outings where 9K shifts were deployed ...and it was in the engine all Winter ( Northeast ) so not exactly an ideal sample but I wanted the worse-case/condition oil I could come up with.

Needless to say I am beyond thrilled at the results ! It's good to know I can push the oil a few thousand more miles but I won't... an oil change is cheap and I consider a cost of doing business with such exemplary machinery.

So if you're on the fence about getting a 9.1 GT3 with a E or F or early G motor, you can either get CPO, Platinum VSC, EZCare through a Porsche dealership for up to 5 yrs for peace of mind . My guess is that a 991.1 GT3 with a G6 motor will one day be a shoulda woulda coulda GT car .

Feel free to post your UOA's ! would love to see some from 4.0's as well .

Indeed very good results, especially on iron. What serial is your G0? G0 5373 and higher is essentially a G6.

Your results show why Mobil 1 0w40 is not a great choice. It's already sheared down below a 40 grade into a 30 grade, so it's HTHS (High Temp Shear Strength), is not offering optimal protection. ZDDP is also quickly consumed. That being said your results are good, so hard to argue it's not working.

Virgin sames shows 2-3 PPM Iron.

BTW here is already a with multiple posts:

My buddy posted this today. I’ve been running mobil1 0W-40 but do change quite frequently ask this is frankly the easiest car I’ve ever worked on and it sees mostly track use. I’m definitely going to move to Porsche Motorsports recommendation or Motul.

Another Michael here.

I went long on this oil change interval (6k miles), but it was mostly easy highway cruising/daily driving with the exception of one track day. This was my last interval on Mobil 0w40 and my G6 engine had nearly 39k miles on it at the time.

I've switched to Motul Xcess 5w40 so I'll definitely send in a sample once this Motul gets to 5k miles (2 track days are on this interval as well).

You should see my 180k original motor E46 M3 oil analysis #s if you think that's high. I'm not worried about this being on a 6k interval and will report what the #s after the Motul switch after it reaches 5k.

A good way to think of it is PPM per 1000 miles. 14 ppm for that many miles is not terrible.
