So everything went as smooth as could be... The whole process took 15 minutes and could have been done over the phone (except if you want to pay in cash)...I had been emailing for some time discussing options, prices, etc.

Once I determined what I wanted (5 yr/ 60k miles), the finance manager had all the paperwork prepared before I got there....Paid for it, signed a couple documents and was done! She did indicate that many stores either don't care to offer the warranty, or aren't that knowledgeable when it comes to selling it...or for whatever reason don't want to deal with it..

The Porsche Platinum warranty is transferable to a new owner, and if the car is traded in, the warranty can be cancelled and a pro-rata refund is issued...definitely a win-win in my book!

No, only a manufacturer can provide a "warranty".
But you can buy a service contract from Porsche Financial. I bought the Porsche Platinum plan for my 991.1 GT3.

Mine, including tax was a little under $6,100... That might have something to do with year of car, mileage on the car etc..

I purchased a 60 month / 60k mile powertrain PFS VSC through my dealer for under $4k with a $250 deductible.. I figured that the powertrain is really all that mattered for me for my 2015 GT3.

this is great to know, looking at a car that Hennessy did a g6 swap on and will be out of 10yr factory warranty later this year.

Another endorsement for Emerson Knauss at Hennessy Porsche. I just picked up a 5 year Porsche VSP from him for my 991.1 GT3 with 33101 miles for $7200. Basically worry free peace of mind for very little money, IMO. I could have went 6 year, but it was a big jump and didn't seem worth it to me. Super easy. Gave him my VIN, got pricing for 3,4,5 and 6 year and then AMEX over the phone.
